A ghost is someones past archived round on a particular course. Each shot they played (could be 2 hours ago our 2 months ago) is saved in a database, when you select to play against a particular ghost those saved shots are referenced from the Db and displayed on screen. You know the final score of each ghost prior to starting your round, but when the round plays out you each progress hole-by-hole on the scorecard. It's a really slick system.

You have various options regarding selecting ghost opponents; total global score, friends scores, your prior scores etc. I believe the game attempts to match you with "similar" skilled ghosts (not sure of the exact logic here).

I really love the concept, as it represents playing against an actual human player instead of some generated AI results. It basically allows you to play against online opponents without the hassle of having to find an opponent and all the other associated online multiplayer BS. One of my favorite aspects is building up a person history on a specific course (I've played Augusta at least 15 times), and I can select to play against my prior best rounds.

Yeah, even without a lobby system, I think they did Multiplayer really good. Every time I log in, I get an update of what my friends have done in recent rounds ("Chairman7w just shot a -4 on King Kyne Tropical Course").

With any of those notices, I have the option to click on that and play against their ghost.

I's very slick, and very fun. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to land 10' away (and expect to make your birdie putt), only to watch your friend roll in a birdie from 30'. NOW you're really under pressure to make that 10-footer!

My boy Yogi and I are constantly chasing each other's scores. He usually wins, but it just makes the time I beat his scores that much sweeter. :-)

Do you add friends from the game in PSN? Thanks
