Career mode seems even more basic than the last version. This time they plop you into the last tourney of the web tour where I guess that as long as you shoot a decent round, you're automatically make it onto the PGA tour. You don't even have to bother playing any full season amateur or web site tours. How is that a sense of accomplishment when you make the tour? No Ryder cups, no Europeon tour, no mention of match play tourneys on the tour or skin games as a way to make money to travel around the world to enter special tournaments if need be. You could do so much with this sport with replayability with a meaty career mode.

It looks to me that it just exists that to gather XP points. Not one mention of how the PGA tour works. They even give you the quick option to burn through round so you can finish the mode as quick as possible. After 2 years they can't even give some depth to a career\season mode. Seems like it will get pretty boring after a couple of days.

This will be the first time in years I wont be buying this game. Unless they ramp up the presentation to make it feel like youre not playing a spreadsheet, pretty graphics can only go so far.

I prefer to withhold judgment on Career Mode and the game as a whole until I can actually get a copy and start playing it and finding what depth there is to it, how it plays, etc. EA is notorious for not telling us everything and they certainly haven't dumped the info truck on this game yet either.....

I certainly hope so but didn't they release their information schedule and I think this is it for career mode until release. If they have something substansial planned, I would have thought they would have released it yesterday unless the marketing team is totally incompetent.

You may think I'm overly critical but trust me I want this series to succeed because I don't want this series to end.. The key to every sports game is an indepth career\franchise mode. Thats what most people play and what gives it replay value. The devs continually ignore that and lagging sales are a result. After the buggy disaster of TW14, you gotta come out swinging with the next game especially with a 2 year development time.

I don't want this title to die but when you decide to make it this shallow (especially when other sports titles get meatier year after year) combined with not having Augusta, then sales are gonna tank and then there is no next version. Then we're all unhappy. Same thing happened with the Fight Night series and this game is following the same path.

Pretty obvious to me their strategy is to dribble information until E3. If I'm wrong, I'll be here to say "I was wrong".....

I'm not a marketing guy but I'm not sure how the slow trickle of info will drive sales? I'd think a quality product would?

Golf is comepletly different than madden. Golf is more individual. I mean how fun would it be playing a season as a pro golfer without progression? Would winning every tournament be rewarding?

Well, for one, I wouldn't win every tournament. I would like to use a real golfer for a season mode, and screw the progression. I like progression as part of career mode when you create a golfer, but to be honest, when I play Madden and other sport games, I rarely play more than one season. I don't need progression in a season mode.

And really, I'd like to play a season of PGA, with a pro caliber golfer, on day one. I really don't want to wait to grow a golfer just to do one of the basic things I do with every other sports title.

This is not a deal breaker, but it is a feature I wish they would put in every single year. It seems like it would be easy to implement. But I like the series, regardless.

The slow trickle keeps forum threads getting bumped up and people talking about the game. As it gets closer, more and more people join the conversation and it hopefully, for the publisher, builds a groundswell of support that results in a large number of day one purchases.

A shame that all these years later you still cannot go through the Tour with a real pro.

Imagine having Madden and 2K only being done with a created player.

Good news is EA Access is such an incredible app that this will be checked out before anyone has to commit.

Being able to play as a pro thru a tour season in not a game breaker. It would just be a nice option to have. People play and enjoy these games in different ways. It would be nice if EA could configure this title to appeal to as many playing styles as possible. They do it in their other games. If I want myself to QB the Pats I can do it. If I want to play a season with real players I can also do that. It seems like an easy fix to make this game more appealing to everyone? Based on their initial trailer, they have something for those who like to drop bombs on golf courses, just maybe they could also have something for those of us who want to play as an existing pro? I get the title every year and will do so again. I create my own existing pro, build up his attributes to match what I think they'd be based on the pros they give you, then play a season. It's the best I can do but I bothers me when created Tiger is on the leader board along with real Tiger!!!

I wasn't pointing to you specifically just in general. So I apologize if you took offense. I agree it would be nice to have that option, we did have a quick tournament feature in '14 were you could play a final round of a major or a few others with anyone or you cag. If they could expand it would be great. but there are tournament almost every week of the year. It would be almost near impossible for ea to get the licensing for every tournament and course. Madden and any other sport are different because they can secure the licensing and likeness for everything with one contract (i maybe wrong). Indidvule courses aren't under the PGA logo, unlike stadiums and teams are with the NFL. So for anyone waiting solely for this feature maybe be waiting a long time.
