    Links 2003

Steve, thanks for posting the link to the trial version of Links. I like the game and I am probably going to pick it up today. It is by no means an innovative title, but it seems solid. The reviewers have been giving scores in the 8-9 range and based on my early impressions I feel that is probably a reasonable score.

Golf fans should check it out. The demo is 160+ MB, but it is worth it as you can play 9 holes using the real-time swing and even try out online play. In fact, one of the biggest reasons I am picking up the game is because of the fun I had last night playing the demo online. It seems to be a popular game because there were a lot of people on zone.com last night. I had no trouble finding someone to play and my opponents were all class acts.

    Anyone else have the game?

I love the game and there is nothing better than chilling at home watching a game and playing links online.

Yep, it's a great game if you can get over the "static" environments. Gameplay and physics are second to none.

Yeah, it's a good solid game though patch will be nice for stability issues. Converting any course is easy and there are many great courses for d/load out there. On-line play on the Zone has been lag free and perfect so far. I like it.

I have played the game for a few hours and really like it. It does not focus on the flare like Tiger, but I find myself feeling more like I am playing golf than Tiger 2002. I would recommend it to anyone. Best Buy has it for $39 this week.

I'm a long time Linkster and you just can't beat the APCD courses that those designers have put out!!

If you haven't d/l'ed many courses, I suggest go here first.

The course designer is very difficult to master, but its ooh so powerful.

I agree with Reddog. The game lacks some flair and options, but it plays a great game of golf. Last night I tried the championship level for the first time using the RTS with the closest camera angle and it just felt like real golf. The physics are outstanding and the short game is realistically challenging.

Media Play (owned by Best Buy) also has the game for $39.99 this week if anyone is looking to save $10. There is also a $15 rebate for previous owners of Links/MS Golf.

JDE: Thanks for the Link. Do you think the Championship Course add-on is worth $20 or can I get away with the user-created courses for Links 2003?

Just FYI, I bought the new 20 course add-on pack even though I had them all on Links 2001. The courses have been redone and retouched for 2003 and I really think you can tell the difference. For me, it was worth the $20.
