So Vijay is #1 in the World...

Tiger's 5 year reign has come to and end. Vijay Singh won the Deutsche Bank Open today and he is now the #1 ranked golfer in the world. I say kudos to him, he has worked EXTREMELY hard over the last 2 years to get to this level and he definitely deserves it. That being said, I don't think he will last very long at #1. Tiger will get it back soon.

that looks more and more unlikely every tournament he loses...

It was awesome. Tiger and Vijay in the final pairing today going back and forth with birdies. And I was there to watch it.

Watching Vijay play is something else. The man has such a great all-around game: driving, accuracy, distance, putting. And his swing is so smooth.

Plus, I got to see Tiger bomb a drive 365 yards!!!

Actually, he's been getting better and better, take a look at how he has finished recently. He's ready to bust out soon.

Don't be so sure about him getting it back anytime soon. The way the rankings are done is on a two year basis. As each week goes by Tiger is losing some points for the wins he had 2 years ago. If anything look for Phil and Els to push Tiger down to the 4th spot sometime next season

                            Exactly.
Last year, before Tiger fell into this "slump", he had a huge grasp on the number one ranking. Nobody was even close. Phil, Ernie, and Vijay have all outplayed Tiger since then and I believe it's possible Ernie could even pass Tiger in the rankings this year, if I'm not mistaken.

I caught most of the final round yesterday. You could see flashes of the Tiger we are used to on the front nine. I thought he was going to pull it out. Vijay turned it on over the last nine holes and fought Tiger off. It was great to watch. IMO, Tiger is still the best player in the world. His game has come a long ways since the beginning of the year. Hopefully, he can carry us to a Ryder Cup win, then finish this year strong.

On a side note...How great was it to see David Duval playing on Saturday and Sunday for the first time since 2002? He had a great round on Sunday and finished 5 under. It wasn't too long ago that he was mentioned as one of the game's best.
