You CAN make tour difficulty harder in the settings...but all the experts on here who don't need their hands held are too cool to look at the menus.

Won't help with online play though - Needs to be a harder mode that's one of the standard mode options so all can play on a level field online.

You're painting with too broad a brush kooch, because as one of the experts on here who doesn't need his hand held, the first thing I did was go into the menu and turn off all aids except green grid, and ratcheted the swing difficulty and shot shaping to the most difficult settings. I'm pretty sure I wasn't alone, as I've already heard from other fellow experts who've done the same

The real problem is that every new series seems to bring us a bare bones first edition.

I could understand it if the PS4 and XB1 cane out 3 months ago, but it just seems like a problem that these companies with all their experience are badly struggling to bring a fully fledged effort out after 2-3 years of development.

F1 2015 for instance. They missed a 2013 and 14 next gen edition to concentrate on 15, and yet it was still delayed by a month and missing a career mode.

I get that making games is getting harder as they become more detailed, but surely this shouldn't be happening with nearly every title we get?

What bugs me about the presentation in this game is how every cut scene comes to an abrupt end and freeze. They're ate no fade to black transitions our any transitions for that matter. It gives the game a very choppy feel.

It's called a Bose Big Hit Moment. It can be turned off. Along with the power boost and spin itself in the other difficulty modes and options.

A well written post and I share alot of your thoughts in general. I wanted to highlight the part above because, IMO, any deviation at all from a perfect swing should result in some sort of miss left and right. The way it is now, on stock Tour gameplay, I'm watching alot of streams where the swing is not perfect. Sometimes not even close. But the ball hardly ever deviates from a straight shot.

Imagine if a slight miss left or right would result in a corresponding miss on your shot...it would make alot of greenside hazards and pinched off fairways actually come in to play. I've seen some real bad misses that result in a 5 yard miss at the end of a shot...thats just not punishing enough. I want those super slight misses on the swing stick to result in a 3-5 yard miss on your shot, and everything else kind of domino out from there.

It would make course management a huge part of the game and it would make building your golfer as anything other than the Power attribute skill tree actually a smart decision.

Do we really want a "golf game" to have a mode that actually plays so much like "golf"?

So folks seem to feel that the create-a-golfer has a limited feature set and that the golfer celebrations are over exaggerated.

My question is can you turn off the celebrations when you create a golfer?

I get what you're saying and the context you're saying it in, but I won't go anywhere near that far in criticizing the devs. They've proven they can make a great, tough and realistic golf game with 11, 13 and 14. I just want them to make the mode they claim they made for us sim players, actually for us.

Make it tough, make it a mental challenge.... Golf is tough, don't shy away from challenging your audience.
