Yeah, but to be fair, all companies operate with a "Spend as little as possible, maximize profits as much as possible" kind of ruleset. That's why they exist, to make money.
That said, there is a point of diminishing returns when you put out a product that's simply not up to snuff. And this is that product. I'm not buying it. When IGN (the biggest EA shills on the planet) give it a 5.5, you KNOW it's bad.
And I know somebody will come explain the reasoning (new platform, programming time; limited resources, etc), but all that's just talk. It doesn't matter what the reasons are. Words are wind. This game speaks for itself.
i've not played the game yet, but from reading impressions and reviews it seems that EA simply has some internal company edict that they had to make a game as inexpensively as possible so as to maximize profits on the game.
Think about it....
No Tiger Woods as Cover Athlete ($$$ Savings)
Fewer Courses ($$$ Savings)
Fewer Golfers ($$$ Savings)
Fewer Features ($$$ Savings)
Their marketing strategy was to wait 2 years for a golf game on a Next Gen platform, knowing the appetite for consumers would need to be quenched in some fashion regardless of the quality of the game. Release as few details as possible and post cryptic and clever Social Media comments to ratchet up hype and conversation about the game.
Now their chickens are coming home to roost.Comment

They show a God awful Battleship scene at 2014 E3 and fail to deliver a boatload of old gen features for a next gen title that is 2 years in the making.
Why we should expect anything else from EA at this point is beyond me. The company has simply gotten too big and the beast must be fed. They know where they make their money when it comes to sports games and it's with FIFA and Madden.Comment

Man, this game really bums me out. I put in more hours in TW PGA Tour 14 than any other game of the last gen and was super pumped for this. This is the most bareboned sports game I've ever played... My favorite things I was looking forward to doing were putting myself and my wife in the game with Gameface and playing in the Masters. No Gameface, no women, no Masters. Heck, no replays, no event calendar, no trophy presentations, no country clubs, and the list goes on...
It's a real shame because the actual gameplay is pretty much rock solid. I haven't been this let down in a long, long time.Comment

Here are the results of my 1st tourney on the tour. SMH
Tour Difficulty
Fun I will admit but IGN was on the money at least with the score imo.
TW14 was the most played game in my 30 plus years of gaming so my expectations were high. Keeping hope alive that EA fixes this shallow mess of a game.

For what it's worth, Tour Difficulty isn't much of a challenge.
It's got "Normal" swing difficulty, for example. I go into custom and put advanced lie/wind gusts on, hard swing, no shot shaping or spin, zoom off, grid with no beads--and then I don't have that crazy scoring problem.
With all of that stuff on, especially on Tour's default "normal" swing difficulty, -20 or better is pretty simple. They just missed the boat on how to make shots have some variation in them without being either laser-accurate or wildly off target, which could have created a more organic scoring result.Comment

OK guys, need some help.
Preordered RM and haven't opened it yet. Also interested in TGC.
Which do I go with? Don't wanna get both. Not enough info out there on TGC or how EA will support RM down the line, so I want opinions for those who may have played both.
Does TGC come with a season mode for the digital version, or is that only for the disc version?Comment

I actually should of stated Custom Difficulty. I changed everything and still blew through the tourney.
Again I'm hoping for the best but I could not recommend this game to my worst enemy in the state that it's currently in. Just my .2
