Have you given playing without the zoom a fair shot?

I honestly was very much against it but gave it a shot and found it to find myself thinking far more about each shot (and thus, far more enjoyable for me).

It actually kind of brought me back to the game for a bit after I abandoned it for while. The only thing I don't like is not being able to know how the green sloaps on my approaches.

I have not, to be honest. I understand the idea behind it, but I guess just hard to accept in a video game. Maybe I'll try it again, although 3-click with the right settings is a good challenge.

I play no zoom. I use the back button and use that view to plan my shots. But knowing the green slopes would definitely be useful using that mode. I have found myself hitting good or decent shots only to have hit a huge mountain on the green and roll away, or roll back down.

I do like no zoom or aids. I play some holes to par. Survive them then try not t miss the birdie holes. Right now going into day 4 I'm 2 behind the leader, my 3rd round ballsy shot over the water, PLUNK, my drop and second shot over the water, PLUNK, put me in this spot.

Really enjoying this.

I do wish they would bring back mechanic from TW 11, where you could zoom, so you could see what you were hitting into, but there was no aiming. You could move the camera around, but it had no effect the the aim of your golfer.

That let you make good choices about how to craft your shot, in order to get a good roll down a hill, or miss a problem. But once you got back to your golfer, your aim was still from the tee box. It was a great way to palsy smart, but not have the precision aiming that you get in the zoom mode now.

I also play with no zoom...I really like the overhead camera that gives you the distances to certain points on the hole (bunkers, water, front of green, etc.). The overhead view without zoom makes it feel a bit like you're on the course, consulting your caddie and yardage book.

I have combined that with the hardest swing difficulty and the 3-click mechanic. It's made this game much more challenging and rewarding.

How do I get to play the game? I downloaded, and my only option is to play with Rory or do some training. Is this seriously the entire game?

Downloaded is one thing. Fully installed is yet another. There are about 8 GB worth of updates you have to download and install as well. Be patient and wait for the game to completely install.

Pretty sure there's an into tutorial that you are Rory at the US Open. Complete that and you should get in to the game.

Great game !
Just lacks content.
Best physics system out there. Amazing ball to tree physics.
Wind speed isn't true though, 10mph winds doesn't move the ball much in real life.
Playing on tour pro with swing difficulty hard and no assists....

3 days ago took out NHL out of PS4 for 1st time since picking it up. Tossed Rory back in, switched to 3 click, and have to say I still like this game of golf! Haven't gone to the hard difficulty swing yet but it's coming.. Looks very unforgiving!

The wind in The Golf Club is comic level joke of "over done".
