Not sure how it is possible to 3-putt from 4 feet in this game....obviously opinions vary. I am playing with NO GRIDS and singling putts longer than that....hope you find a way to make putting work for you....

I'm probably in the minority but I'm ok with the putting. I make most of the putts that I should. I think taking the Grids off is the next thing that I need to do. I'm running away with Tourneys and my golfer is lowly leveled. I play on the hardest settings and I'm gonna get bored if something doesn't change. Hopefully for me this is the answer.

Yes, either play TOUR mode or Custom and disable it.

Making a HUGE difference here. Making me sweat putts and take my time to look at the horizon.....I went from averaging 4-8 under to -1 and -2 in my first two rounds with no grids and no default shots....

There is also the option of showing the grid but statically with no moving dots. Nice little option to get used to no grid. Personally I'm still not a good putter, still working on it. so I need to keep it on or hope for a putting update

I wish there was stat tracking for my golfer outside of career mode. Should be a universal profile for what I'm doing so I can look at my longest drive, birdies, pars, eagles etc. Also wish there was instant replays you'd think that would be a no brainer.

The major problem for me is the level the computer plays at in tour mode. EA don't seem to have done a thing that's been a problem with the series for years. It's made worse become you can't seem to adjust the level the machine plays at. I'm on three click with top level and all assists on an I'm winning tournaments by a rediculous distance every time. It's very boring playing pointless final rounds.
The ai is appalling. Players get to around 12 under for the the first two rounds and then either stand still or go backwards. I've not seen any final scores above 15 under. The player I go out with last always disappears on the last two rounds and someone else comes through. I remember this being a problem on most of the TW games. There's never any wind to speak of and its way too easy to win. It's a great game but the Ai and computer level needs to be ramped up to make it worthwhile playing this game.
Given the fact that there are only two three click tournaments a day online and two weekly ones(one being on the silly made up course) I won't be playing this game too often in the future. It's not because I don't like the game. Quite the reverse. There's just nothing to do that's a challenge.
I can now see why the game got such bad reviews. But for different reasons. Most reviews obviously never played the game so couldn't comment on the AI.
My respect for the game wanes with every tournament and it's only day three here since it was released
Having more courses won't mean a thing to me unless the computer levels are ramped up or you have the option to select a level it plays at.

The graphics simply aren't good enough to accurately play the greens without the grid. The consoles simply aren't powerful enough to render the greens accurately so that every contour shows. Turning off the grid at present turns the game into a lottery and golf isn't like that. The answer is to ramp up the computer AI and level it plays at. I am starting to realise that the game has many shortcomings. But these can be easily fixed with a patch.

Opinions vary. I am 56 playing on the Xbox with a 46" 3D HDTV and I can read the greens pretty well. Not a lottery at all if you know how to read elevations and horizons. When I miss a putt, sometimes it is a surprise, most of the time I simply did not take enough time to read it. I will say having a camera view behind the cup would go a long way in making it easier to read. That being said, I had a number of "fist pump" moments the past two days I have played gridless.....

EDIT: I will admit that going gridless on Wolf Creek IS a crapshoot....

Don't disagree on the AI....it could be improved for sure.

May have been mentioned already, but where's the pageantry of winning an event? No celebration at all just now as I won the International Challenge. Worst part is they panned up from my golfer after sinking the putt on 18 and NO gallery whatsoever. Just weird.

I enjoy this game overall but I just have a couple thinks that have irked me.

First of all if I hear this is a "green light special" or "he has a touch of a plumber" one more time my head might explode. I understand that its video game commentary but I hear those two lines probably 3-4 times a round. They obviously have new commentators and the commentary is decent for the most part but there clearly isn't a lot of depth in their choices.

The bunker thing as well I have run into, even with bunkers that really aren't that high. These weren't pot bunkers but just high greenside bunkers that realistically aren't that difficult to hit out of (for pros of course).

The crowd is really screwy. There has been numerous occasions where I haven't even seen them on a hole, then there was one time where I hit it into the trees and hit an excellent punch shot out and it was going to be on the green but instead hit a fan that surrounded the green and it dropped right down.

Totally agree. Winning tournaments is very anti-climactic. And you don't even get rewarded with anything for winning. I wish you could earn money for winning or at least unlock something.

I guess it's just me. I do have the swing on "advanced" but even when my line is just a tad to the right, it is the worst short ever. Just because you are a little right doesn't mean it should go 70 yards straight right into the trees. Perhaps, going down the right side of the fairway is accurate. Just my opinion on that. Of course the correct fix is to hit it straight but figured I'd share my thoughts on the swing path.

Now that I've gotten most of the swings and putting down (unless I'm hitting uphill out of the rough.. then I'm screwed).. my real issues with the game are.. the commentary is terrible.. I won at St. Andrews.. had a -4 round going and they say how terrible the round is going etc.. say I should be on EA Sports Basketball.

The guy yelling 'Fore!' all the time on drives right after you hit the ball.. when they're going to be on the fairway.. why??
