    RM Swing Lag

Has anyone else experienced issues with lag at the top of your swing? Occasionally my club will hold at the top of my swing for a second after I press back up (it's very noticeable) causing a loss in about 16% of my shot power.

I didn't notice much until lately I had it happen 6-7 times in a round. A couple resulted in balls in the water. Is it possible that this is my controller? If so, are there any fixes? Would plugging it directly into the system held eliminate lag? Or is this issue with the game itself?

I experience controller lag every so often on the PS4. I'm not sure if it's a bluetooth thing or perhaps a game issue..

If PS4, have you tried resetting your controller?

I've tried both my controllers. Turned them off and on. Had them plugged in. Doesn't really help. This doesn't always happen. I might go a whole round with a major issue but then I'll have a few shots where my downswing is clearly delayed from when I'm pushing the stick and I get -11 percent or so. Pretty frustrating when I'm in a close tournament.

Seeing no lag here, but my PS4 is one day old and my Xbox One is about a month old so not seeing any lag yet...

Are you talking about the pause at the top of the swing? I see it all the time no matter how fast or slow I move the stick. It's even shown in the video on this thread:

I may be misunderstanding what you are referring to, but from what I understand it to be it's a normal swing for this version of the game. I just swing the stick as normal and don't pay attention to the animation swing.

The issue isn't the animation or what it looks like, it's that it results in me losing 12-15% swing power which on a drive is about 50 yards and often times on approach shots means I'm going in the water or some sand.

I cannot for the life of me get the shot power correct. I have played around 50 rounds and haven't had a perfect swing yet. I'm usually losing around 9% on my drives (-4% slow, -5% short swing for example). Occasionally the club will stay at the top for a moment after a press to swing down and cause me to lose massive yardage.

I don't know what the issue is, but it's ruining a game I'd otherwise be having fun with.

I'd be interested in some general feedback. What are you guys seeing? Are you getting perfect swings or close to it (1-3% loss of power max) on a regular basis?

Rarely ever get less than full power on a swing. You need to think "acceleration" through the ball. If you need to flick the stick forward, try that. Keep using the practice swing until you get the hang of it. The only time I get less than full power is when I am between clubs and I swing slower on purpose....

Good call. I just tried flicking the stick and that seems to be my issue. I was flicking it forward fast but holding it up (almost like posing in real life haha). That's how it used to work in the old TW games. The trick here seems to be to flick and let go fairly quickly. I've gotten a few +10% power swings that have sailed it over the green now, but I at least have an understand of what I'm trying to do.

If nothing else I'm enjoying hitting drives 355 yards as opposed to 305!

                  Thanks!

Yeah, DO NOT pause at the top of your swing.....great to hear you are getting the hang of it.
