So...TW PGA Tour14 or RM PGA Tour
So what's the verdict? Is the new EA golf game with Rory worth a shot(no pun intended) or should I stick with my Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14?Tags: None -

I'd stick with TW14 until more updates. Personally, I prefer RMPGA but I think there is more playable value with tw. -

I hear that it's available through purchase at Gamestop.com but not through the store anymore.Comment

Re: So...TW PGA Tour14 or RM PGA Tour
Since I just downloaded all of my content again for TW 14 I'm assuming it's still available. P.S. I still can't believe how much content this game has. It's like two games in one...Comment

Switch over to RMPGA. TW14 doesn't have bunny rabbits running through the bunkers.
You don't get to see a deer every once in a while on TW 14.
You won't get good at 6 real-life PGA course on TW 14 like you can on RMPGA. There are way too many courses on TW 14 to choose from, you'll lose track of which ones you haven't played.
The nice thing about RMPGA is that you get to play each course at least twice in a season. Also, another plus for RMPGA is that a season doesn't take as long to play. 16 events and on to the next.
You won't waste nearly the time putting together your Create-a-golfer in RMPGA. Luckily, they took out many of the features that became such time-wasters in TW 14 when it came to making your golfer.
You can also play online against others or your friends without the pressure of earning a bunch of XP. You can only earn those in a career mode.
So, all in all, EA took that huge leap for us, from a virtually un-realistic, unplayable game in TW 14 to this almost Tour like simulation in "Golf without Limits", Rory McIlroy PGA TourComment

Re: So...TW PGA Tour14 or RM PGA Tour
I still strongly prefer Tiger 10 over the rest. In fact, I rank them as:
1.) Tiger 10
2.) Tiger 13
3.) Tiger 11
4.) Tiger 12
5.) Tiger 14
6.) Tiger 09
7.) Tiger 08
8.) Tiger 07
9.) Tiger 06
I personally couldn't stand the presentation options in Tiger 14. It was the worst Follow Cam implementation I've ever seen in the series, and the so-called "Broadcast" presentation was horrifically bad. It would put your viewpoint at bizarre positions behind mounds, in trees, at huge distances away from the scene, and would switch to one of these 'wonderful' cut views at impact..... (ugh).
I was also not a fan of the diagonal swing for simulation difficulty, although I wanted to play simulation difficulty. I just never could get my senses to buy into the idea that I was having to swing a club diagonally in order to produce what in essence was a 'straight shot'. I think if they could have just tweaked the sensitivity up on the X axis tracking, like reducing the sweetspot percentages down into the teens, as we were able to do in Tiger 10's club tuner, Tiger 14's simulation difficulty would have been more palatable.Duke Football? Re: So...TW PGA Tour14 or RM PGA Tour
I was being facetious, however I admit I was way over the top in what I posted, yes, probably in two threads, yesterday.
The gameplay is good on RMPGA, the graphics are what you would expect for a next gen system, which is good. I'm just disappointed in the career mode, which is what I play most. I'm not good enough on these games to compete online, so I focus on the career mode.
I thought TW 14 was a good career mode which could have used some slight tweaks to make it great.
I just don't like seeing such a shell of a career mode on this game, when EA took the time, probably not much, to put those silly sayings between rounds, or the rabbits in the bunkers, which, in my 30 years of golfing I have seen maybe less than once.
I just hope the "updates" whenever those occur, allow us to play TPC Scottsdale in that career mode, and maybe add some more courses and golfers to it.
Sorry for the cynicism.Comment
