Vijay is the most consistent golfer in the world for a reason. He plays and practices more then anyone else... People think his arrogant, but I think he’s misunderstood. More power to him

If Vijay is arrogent, Tiger is a freaking saint. Tiger, and Vijay have a bit of arrogence about them but you know what they produce results. Its one thing to shout your mouth off like Ali and then lose to Frasier. But if you win, and win, and WIN...its not arrogence its called being better than everyone else.

the only reason why Vijay is the number 1 golfer in the is because he plays so many events. If tiger, phil, or ernie played as many events as vijay they would all be ahead of him right now.

But he plays well in those tournies. Tiger could choose to play those, he doesn't it shows in the ratings. Golfers should be rewarded for playing more tournaments. It would be a very poor Tour, if Tiger only played the majors and the Buicks. If Phil only played in the Pheonix and the majors. As it stands now, Tiger doesn't play enough and maybe that will change. And phil has had an outstanding year one of the better runs in the majors in a while. Had a chance to win all 4.

The reason vijay plays so well in the greater hartford open and such is because he has no competition. Vijay is a pretty good golfer, he is just not the best. Vijay vs. tiger, I'll take Tiger every single time.

It's actually REALLY REALLY close, if you just look at the player stats. I don't know if I'd go one way or the other... it's tough.

I'd pick Phil over either of these guys anyway. He's #1 in scoring average and "all around ranking" at pgatour.com

While I think Vijay can come off as an arrogant guy he's earned the right to be in most respects. He's the hardest working golfer out there and he's been having an amazing couple of years. Even when he was still behind in the screwy PGA tour ranking system people were saying he's the best golfer in the world. He's just very steady in his play and he doesn't show any signs of slowing down.

I agree with the sentiments about having the top golfers play in more tournaments but the PGA can't force these guys to play in events that they don't want to play. You'll see far too many players missing the cut cuz they weren't really motivated to play in said events. Actually I think the PGA season is WAAAAY too long anyways.
