    Ryder Cup Discussion Thread

Don't think we'll get much action in this thread...but oh well!

The Euros are leading all four 4-ball matches as of 10:35 this morning!

Not looking like a good start for the US.

Tiger and Phil are on the comeback though. They are only 1 Down.
    NFL: Tennessee Titans
    MLB: Cincinnati Reds

I'm working from home watching this. The Europeans are playing some excellent golf right now.

Tiger and Phil are -1 but playing much better the last few holes.
Campbell and Love are -4 and getting really outplayed.
        Riley and Cink are EVEN.
Toms and Furyk are -3 and not showing any signs of coming back.

Anyhow, this is one beautiful golf course. I'm really impressed with the layout.

The Euros always do well on 4-ball. I'd be happy with 3-1 after this section. 2.5-1.5 would be huge.

I'm not sure if putting Tiger and Phil together today was the right move...everyone expects them to win, and if they lose it might sap the team's energy, at least a lot of media will be all over them

Well, the US is running out of holes. They'd be VERY lucky if it was 3-1 at the end of the day. It very well might end up 4-0.

At this point Riley and Cink appear to be the only team with a chance at winning a point.

I would like to go ahead and say that Freddie Couples should have been invited.

                            After the morning session:

                            Europeans 3.5
                            Americans .5

I noticed Sutton chose Phil and Tiger to be paired again this afternoon against Clarke and Westwood. I'm not so sure this is a good strategy, but it's not my call. The US team really needs a strong afternoon or this could get ugly.

I also thought it was a bad move by the Europeans to split up Westwood and Garcia. They're 4-1 in matchplay and seem to feed off of each other.
