Re: Links 2004 or Tiger 2005
I think it completely depends on what you're getting the game for, if you want more of a sim golf game then Links 04 is better in that aspect, but lacks much in offline play depth. I'm yet to play this years Tiger but I'm sure that much like in the past it has more of an arcade feel, and that it has a lot more depth than Links '04 had.
Online Links you can get 4 people playing at once which is great for having all sorts of different types of matches. I believe Tiger is only 2 people online at a time, how they couldn't find a way to get 4 people at a time I'll never know. Plus the XSN tourneys are nice for Links, not sure what EA and Tiger have up their sleave for this year and online, but I'm sure they can come up with something good if they wanted to just depends on how much effort EA wanted to make.
Anyway, if you're not gonna play online at all, Links should keep you busy for a little while, but really doesn't have a great deal of depth. While Tiger games usually kept my interest longer trying to unlock all the stuff. My biggest complaint about Links is that in the skins matches it always seems like the games are scripted and you get screwed with someone chipping in from 20 yards to screw you each time you get an opportunity to pick up a skin.

Links 2004 is an amazing piece of work. It surpasses what I expected to see in a console golf game, graphically. With some gameplay and interface refinements, it could have been a classic.Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach CutcliffeComment
