This was a big update, but things are moving fast now... I think we're going to see another major one in a day or two!

Yeah, that's fantastic. I was wondering when they were going to go live with the Jack Nicklaus packaging with the title. It's been in my beta builds screens for almost a month now It was hard to sit on that news.

Anyway, this is build 1.4.0.0 that's now out there to the public and is considered the "release" version of the game. It will be interesting to see what sort of a splash this makes on the market now. I think they've got to milk that Jack Nicklaus association for all it's worth. Game is playing great now though... I can now confidently say that this is my favorite golf game of all time, even though I suck at it more than than any other golf game I've ever played. I think the new OnCore Caliber ball is going to help me with some of my stray shots though... I can handle the loss of distance in the interest of having a better chance of keeping the ball in play.

Very disappointed they decided to raise the price to $34.99..

With a new name comes a new price? No chance I'll buy it now until a sale. At $20 I was ready to pull the trigger.

Maybe this was announced and I misread it, but almost doubling the price puts me off big time.

All I can say is that you are getting a MUCH better and more complete product now at $34.99 than you would have got if you'd sprung for $20 when it first came out in Early Access. It's easily worth $34.99, and then some, IMO. Ultimately, the free market will decide whether this is the proper price point for it or not.

Worth every nickel at $34.99, IMO....

Don't forget, it is out of Beta now. I just purchased back in March when I upgraded my computer and it was worth more than $20 then...again, IMO.....

I agree it might be worth $35 but hell, it was $20 a couples days ago and it hasn't added course forge or anything major according to those notes above.

I am just disappointed it almost doubled in price when I was on the verge of buying. I have no interest in this anymore at $35, especially when I see you have to buy the licensed courses at $6-7.

I hope it sells well and cannot wait to see the course forge, but they've lost one sale with me with that price jump. That's just my opinion of course.

How does this game compare to The Golf Club? I see the game has finally "released" out of early access. Obviously I'd be curious to hear opinions from people who have played both. Also if you could compare how the two course creation tools differ and are similar, that would be great!

I hate to see someone miss the greatest computer/video golf gaming experience of all time over $15, but that's your prerogative. You don't *have* to buy any of the licensed courses. I bought Bethesda CC two days ago @ $6.99 (it's now been dropped to $4.99, btw) just out of curiosity. It's a good course, but honestly, I can name a half dozen free, user made courses that I like better. I think the flow of quality user made courses is going to be such that you won't feel like you're missing something by not buying licensed courses.

I've got over 1,500 hours in The Golf Club, and while it's an enjoyable game, it just feels shallow compared to Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf. The controller swing interface in this game is so far ahead of anything else I've ever played that it's unbelievable. As you stand over a shot with a controller in JNPG, you're sweating a wider array of outcomes because the interface is so dynamically balanced to model and reproduce swing errors that your senses pick up on it before your intuitive mind does... it's incredible! Little waves of euphoria trickle down my spine when I connect with a 5-wood approach from 235 yards out and send it where I intended... 60% of the time, I'm going to miss the green with this shot though, but your senses tell you why right after you hit the shot.

I can't compare the course creation tools because I don't have access to Course Forge. All I read says it requires more knowledge of Unity 5 to get the most out of it. It seems to allow a lot more custom objects than GNCD, and the courses wind up looking a lot more distinctive, as a result.

I'm looking forward to trying this out tonight.

I've played golf games since one of the original Jack Nicklaus Golf games and I'm curious how it will play.
