Got to my first US Open post patch, and Oakmont is the host. Love it. So glad rotating majors were put back in!

This game on the hardest level of 3 click swing is the single toughest way to play any golf game, IMO. And the difference here is its not artificially difficult like some golf games are. 3 click is just a tough but fair gameplay style.

I find myself doing two or three practice swings on almost every shot, to "groove" my swing so to speak, just to get a feel for what I need to do. It's much more preferable to the twitchy analog swing in this game. I wish the devs could find a middle ground between the dial-a-distance analog swing of old and the twitchy unrealistic analog swing in the last few games.

Until they do, 3 click is the way to go and with each new course they add, how you play changes from tournament to tournament now so much. Just a wonderful job.

Also, Tour Pro is is not the hardest setting. You still need to customize it to get the hardest swing difficulty. I miss a lot of fairways, even using the analog stick. Three click is harder, and I may switch to that.

I find the gameplay to be damn great. At $16, it's a steal. At $60 it was way overpriced. But since then they have added many courses, some offline game modes, and tweaked the gameplay in good ways.

What they have now is a game primed for a real AAA release.

The last EA golf game I got was like tiger woods 11. I didn't get this game when it came out because it was missing a lot of stuff from what I heard. I haven't really been keeping up with the game. How much has the game changed since it first came out? How is the career mode compared to last gen tiger games? Are the controls like the same as last gen to?

The game has had many real-life courses added post release - TPC Scottsdale, East Lake, Quail Hollow, TPC Stadium at PGA West, Oakmont Country Club and Banff Springs (one fantasy course, Treasure Island, was also added).

These real-life courses have all been added to career mode, so a single season is now about 25 events. That said, the TW games had deeper career modes: more stats, more equipment/apparel to unlock, a money list, an actual event schedule and a much deeper create a golfer system.

Gameplay is essentially the same as last-gen TW games. There are some changes, but the core is the same. Best of all, controls are all customizable and can be suited to the way you like to play the game.

I picked this up for $8 at BB. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

They've added several courses, and offline game modes, and many tweaks to gameplay over the 9 or so updates. It's changed and grown alot.

Career is still... shallow. However, all the new courses appear on the career calendar, so its technically grown. Customization still lacks. No new equipment or clothing was added, nor was any character appearance options.

Online, I can't speak for. I don't play it online.

However, with all due respect, to say you probably still won't like it... I just don't get that opinion. It's changed, alot.

I'd recommend firing it up, and playing some rounds, and jumping back into career if you started it. As I mentioned, all the new courses released will seamlessly integrate into your career schedule.

The newest update from last week also allows for alternating venues for the US and British open.

so, alot has changed that's improved the game. Unless you're looking for customization.
You kinda missed the point........dude said he played it for 2 hours & wasn't impressed.
The gameplay has not changed at all so why would he like it now.

                I like the game btw.

I may give 3-click a try, but I enjoy using the stick to swing. I'll see what I think about it.

Good luck man. Give it a few rounds. You might never go back to analog. I don't enjoy the random miss using analog. At least with 3 click, I know why the ball went left or right.

Rough times out there, but I really enjoyed it. The margin for error is much greater than with the analog. I'm going to stick with it for a while and see if I can improve on the disastrous first attempt lol. I'm definitely not jumping back into my career until I get a bit better.

Maybe I should give changing over to 3 click a try for a challenge/change.

Much more successful bounce back round at Sawgrass. 3-click makes you focus on every shot, that's for sure. Give it a try.uploadfromtaptalk1463753559069.jpg

My first game I was losing strokes everywhere, but since I've settled down and gotten used to to it a bit, it's mostly on the drive. If I mistime it, I'm ending up in the tall grass or trees somewhere. I have also been losing strokes on the green, but I'm improving a lot there.

Water shots are kind of scary now lol.

Very nice back nine, my friend. That first round was rough but a solid +2 after a 40 on the front. I think my favourite part about 3 click, and there is no better example of it than Sawgrass, is having to play for the miss. That just doesn't exist with analog.

The Sunday pin on the 17th at Sawgrass...forget it lol. I just play to the middle of the green and hope for a two putt. And then the tee shot in the 18th, almost all the pros talk about what an intimidating tee shot that is and on 3 click it really actually is. I play out to the right sometimes like I see on TV just to not make a huge number.

I love everything about 3 click except for the feel. I prefer analog but for realism and golf course management, no game has been as challenging as this one when you use 3 click.
