It's seems to be broken, i know for a fact im going straight back and forward and it will veer off way left or right even if i was a little off, it should veer way off. I hope they fix it, because it's truly effecting gameplay.

It's nowhere near broken, at all. Im using tour clubs on PS4 and haven't missed much. Takes practice. It's not easy. Sure as heck ain't broken...

You need to stop with this.

First, the poster you are responding to isn't the one who can't play because of the online restrictions.

Second, and maybe most important, no one has complained about the actual game. It's a great game, most have acknowledged that.


You were the one who started this argument for no reason. It's fair for someone without an internet connection to be disappointed that they can't enjoy this game.

You're the one who put your foot in your mouth saying you aren't aware of any other sports game that doesn't require an internet connection to be played when literally all of them have that capability.

It's okay to admit you were wrong. No one is saying this game is poorly made or put together.

They are just saying it's unfortunate that the offline mode isn't actually an offline mode.

Stop taking it so personal, you don't have to admit you were wrong about the whole "there is no other sports game that doesn't require online connection" and most importantly, take your own advice from one of your earlier posts and just move on.

I am not taking anything personal. I also don't see the need for the condescending response.

I will apologize for my aggressive responses. That was unnecessary.

I understand the console versions have 18 courses to play offline. I am not sure if the PC versions do. Every other course available to play is on HB's server. When you choose a course that is not one of the stock courses already on the hard drive, the game takes the course data from the server and the course generator that is on the hard drive generates the course on the fly. Therefore you can't have a truly "offline Career Mode" without the ability to save courses to the hard drive and I believe that is an issue with Sony and/or MS as to why they don't allow user created courses to be saved on the users hard drive. I thought everyone understood this and it is apparently not the case, so please excuse my incorrect assumption.

If I am not mistaken, I am pretty sure the rules for saving user-created content on consoles are pretty strict and may be the main reason this functionality does not exist. If this is indeed the case, then HB and MG need to make sure the game information prior to and after release is clear on this.

What you may be experiencing are issues related to the server performance or lack thereof. Hang in there and see if your results don't improve once they get the server issues ironed out. Let us know if you see any difference.

Really interested in this. Might go for PS4 version - as I have the Pro.

If I enjoy it may then pick it up for the One X in November. Suppose could go for Xbox One now and it will carry over to the One X.

Has anybody directly compared the PS4 and X1 versions yet ?

I'm liking what I'm hearing about the swing mechanics itself.

However, not confident regarding the servers at the minute. Due for release tomorrow in UK (and rest of Europe).

So expect another bottleneck on Friday and over the weekend ?

FWIW, I was having a ton of trouble hitting anything that wasn't a dead hook with my driver. When my pace was okay, my swing line would be off. When I got the swing nice and straight, my tempo would he wrong. This is with Player clubs.

Then I switched from the right stick swing to the left and suddenly I'm having no problems hitting it straight off the tee. If you're struggling, I'd give this a shot.

If you buy and play this weekend, have patience......I believe it is taking them longer then they expected to balance the loads on the servers.....

I got the game and am playing on XOne.

I'm having the same issues with swings. I'm putting well, but my tee shots and approaches frequently shank to the right even if I feel like I've made a good back-and forth motion on the right stick.

For those who aren't having this problem on XOne, are you using a brand new or elite controller? My concern is that my right stick is a bit worn and won't be precise, which would put me at a disadvantage. I would rather not have to buy a new controller in order to play well.

I see a lot of potential in this game and want to enjoy it as much as everyone else.

I'm on XB1 as well and my swing is much better using the left stick. The left stick placement makes it easier to keep my thumb straight during the swinging motion. Give that a try.

I am officially on team Tour clubs. I like the risk/reward aspect and it is definitely MUCH harder to dial in approach shots. My short game needs a lot of work, but I love it.

I am on the PS4 Pro and man I LOVE the game but I cannot play it for long without getting disconnected. Very frustrating. I hope I can get some play time in tonight. Get those servers fixed HB!

It looks quite a bit better than the first game too.

One more piece of information regarding the offline mode concerns:

You can't play career in offline mode because the currency values you earn in career mode are tied to the online implementation.

Again, I feel for those who want a fully fledged offline Career Mode. Doesn't appear the core design of the game supports a fully offline mode.

I haven't seen any in my 3 hours on the PS4 Pro. However, I have shanked stuff left and right that I didn't think should have been. With that being said I'm not blaming that on the game but I'd like to think it's the games fault, LOL.

We shall see once the servers are up and all lag and issues like that are eliminated. My guess is I will still be shanking and slicing, LOL

There is something broken. I make perfect tempo'd swings and straight back and forward and it veers off far left or right on tour or player clubs, I refuse to use standard since I've been playing golf games for 25+ years and don't ever have issues swinging. I checked calibration of my controller through DS4 for windows and it's fine. There is something off with the game. It will be random its not every time. I know when I miss swing, I was playing around on the range last night and there is something vastly wrong with the mechanic. Every 3 to 4 perfect/perfect tempo'd swings and pulling straight back, and pushing straight forward it veers far left or far right like 90 degrees veered off and i would shanked it. I get if I was off a little and a miss it a little im fine and expect to be punished but perfect tempo'd swings going straight back and straight forward veering off for shanks means there is something broken.

I like the game and it has tons of potential but something needs to be tuned.

You really need to look up the definition of broken. The swing mechanic is not broken. I've used tour clubs exclusively, not had any issues. Actually went 18 holes last night without any bad swings. Just hate to see them nerf the challenge so guys can shoot -20
