I remembered this was a course from the original, and since I had my x1 connected to a similar tv beside this one, I decided to boot up the game and see the comparison.
At first I thought there was a tv problem in the way I had the color adjusted, because TGC1 was ridiculously bright and vibrant compared to TGC2. I then switched tvs just to make sure, but it turns out its just the way the game is.
When comparing tgc 1 to EA's Rory game, I always thought tgc was so realistic and Rory was a bit more arcade like. Well, now compared to the new game TGC1 is the one that looks arcade like.
The more muted colors of the new game actually make it alot more realistic, especially when looking at the exact same course on the old version.
The gameplay seemed a bit more smooth, and it also made me realize I didn't have the ball trail on in the new game, which I actually kind of like.
Putting is where the games really felt different, swing-wise. It felt much more clunky, like you were swinging a rock on the end of your club.
One thing I'm curious about. How many new TGC2 official courses are there? It seemed like there were 20 official ones listed on the course search, but I'm not sure how many were also on TGC1. Were the carry over courses imported over the same way that a user-created ones will be, or were they recreated especially for this version?
My next test will be to try out an import and see how it looks.
Thanks for listening to me ramble. Hit em well.
