I'm not here to rip on the game, in fact I hope it improves and there are better versions in the future, I am only writing this to inform anyone that might be on the fence about making the purchase:
1. Ball physics are off. I hit wedges into greens and they bounce forward like I landed on a sprinkler head. There is no realistic feel to the ball reacting to the ground. The same is with balls landing in the rough, they bounce around like they're hitting a hard surface.
2. This is pretty much a one player game. Two players can't simultaneously log in and play, it's one person and "guest"
3. Personal preference, but I'd like to have alternate ways of swinging the club. I grew up on three click and would prefer the option.
4. PGA Tour mode has potential, but it's a LONG ways from offering a realistic feel similar to a Madden or The Show. If I have to type in all the names, at least let me alter their look and attributes.
5. Putting and chipping are getting closer but still a ways to go for a realistic feel.
The half dozen courses that come with the game are visually stunning, but the game doesn't offer much else. The PGA connection here was obviously a last minute thing that they jammed into the game, it's way below what I would expect. $50 was a high price tag for this version. Hopefully in the near future they can build off this. I wish someone would, the best golf game of all time was LINKS and no one has looked at their model to build upon. EA Sports had every opportunity but failed miserably, having said that the Rory version of EA Golf is better than TGC19. Here's hoping TGC(future) will be a more polished version. Until then, Microsoft will refund you if you're disappointed which it sounds like most are.
