Possible to watch a sim in Golf Club 2019?

So, during this time of no sports ... I've taken a few sports games, set it to sim a CPU game, and I'll stream it on Twitch, and my friends and I will bet on it.

Before I purchased this, I was hoping someone could tell me if it was possible to do that with The Golf Club 2019. If I could take two pro golfers and, say, set them to play 9 holes of match play, put both on CPU, and just watch the simulation? Is that possible?

And if not, does anyone know of any games where that would be possible?

    Thanks for any help.

Not possible... you can't create an AI player in this game who will play a round out, stroke-by-stroke. The only form in which AI players exist in this game is via an attribute based score generator for Career mode. Collectively, AI players generate a bell curve of scores based on a statistical model.

Suffice it to say there's nothing remotely close to facilitating what you're trying to create in this game.

You're welcome, and your desire to do this just reinforces the already established need for fully functional AI players, with customizable, fully animated avatars. PGA Championship Golf 2000 had all of that in 1999, short of the customizable appearance of the avatars. You could still tee it up with a group of animated AI players, who would play their rounds out, stroke-by-stroke, according to the order of play rules of golf. Why can't it be done in 2018 - 2020 for goodness sake!?

They could do it now if they wanted to, I just think they don't see a substantial return on investment for the development time it takes to do it. Golf in general isn't as popular now as it was 21 years ago and I think they factor that into the decision. I personally think there's more demand for a quality, dynamic career mode, populated by 3D, customizable AI players who will play rounds out, stroke by stroke than HB Studios thinks, but is it enough to result in enough additional sales to warrant it? I'm not really sure?

I personally don't think they are doing a single thing on the golf front behind the scenes.

I'm curious - do you think they are?

I'd love to be very wrong on my speculation there.

I think HB moved on to much greener pastures (financially) after pushing out that final update to TGC2019 over a year ago.

Well, if you try to follow their communications, they're not doing a single thing on ANYTHING behind the scenes. The last thing they ever officially announced was The Golf Club 2019, and that was over two years ago. The last game they announced they contributed to was WWE 2K20, in 2019. So my question is, what are they doing now that's continuing to earn them 8.4 million dollars, as they did in 2019? They ran an ad 4 days ago for 6 different positions in their studio... they must be working on something, but whatever it is, they're not giving a hint about it!?

I've said this before and I think it's worth reiterating here in this forum... HB Studios took a drastic 180 degree turn in July 2018, just a week or so prior to the release of TGC 2019. They for all intents and purposes went *underground* and haven't been the same, personable and affable entity they were since that time. I thought the introduction of James Seaboyer as CEO in November of last year might have changed that, but it hasn't had any effect on their MO. I can't read them anymore and have now given up trying to... there's just not enough data to work with.

You been able to glean if any of the jobs they've hired for might relate to a golf game?

Honestly, a leadership change most likely means a change in direction and given how the golf game, which was brand new, essentially got patched and punted out to pasture...

..it really feels like exceptionally wishful thinking to think that a golf game is what they are working on - again - after all preceding years of multiple "ok" TGC efforts and then finally a new CEO.

But -we are just guessing either way of course.

I will say though...the lack of any other mainstream interest in golf, both the sport or in other virtual version of it (save for cheesy arcade renditions) sure makes it even harder to believe that someone like HB would be underground for multiple years cranking on...

                  ...a new golf game.

I just don't see it. I don't see the business case for it. I don't see a big enough real market out there for it.

No, the "desired qualities" listed for each position make no allusions to any type or genre of game. Actually, after further review, they're looking for people in 4 of 6 areas, not all six as I'd first through. Here's a link to the listing: http://www.hb-studios.com/work-with-us/

I've washed my hands of trying to read what HB Studios is doing on any front. In this case, a leadership change from someone who has been there as long as James probably means 'more of the same'... which for over two years now has meant low key silence.

I will say though...the lack of any other mainstream interest in golf, both the sport or in other virtual version of it (save for cheesy arcade renditions) sure makes it even harder to believe that someone like HB would be underground for multiple years cranking on...

All we saw new with the introduction of the XBox One was an arcade golf game called "Powerstar Golf", and even as arcade games go, it was pretty 'meh'. Then two years later, Clap Hanz releases Everybody's Golf on the PS4, and honestly I found it less technically appealing and significantly poorer playing than the previous two HSG titles on the PS3.

You're right, there's just not a market out there to warrant the release of a new golf game right now, simulation or arcade oriented!

I know we're OT, but with all that said, do y'all recommend 2019 over Golf Club 2? I'm asking because GC2 is $2.99 on the PSN right now...

                            Well that depends.
If you want to play in societies and live against others, then get 2019.
The Golf Club 2 is a great game, but most people are now playing 2019.
If it was me... I would go with 2019.

If you're a PS NOW subscriber, TGC 2019 has been added to it. I'd still go with 19 over 2, it's still getting a ton of quality courses added right now.
