I stink. I mean really stink. But i want to play online. However, I didn’t want to get in over my head and just get crushed. Are there any societies for casual players and/or players who suck?

Have you tried TGC Tours? When you join up, you go through Q-School and they place you on a tour with people of the same skill level. Three Pro tours for the best players, and eight Challenge Circuits for all others. You can be promoted and/or demoted from the tours you're on, so there's always a chance to improve and move up.
There is also a Beginners Club Tour for players who just want to use the Beginner Clubs set, and you don't even need to go through Q-School for that.
I am going through Q-School now, and people are posting scores anywhere from 55 to 100 for 18 holes. The leaderboard right now is led by someone with a score of -30 after two rounds, where last place (391st) has a score of +43. That's a pretty wide range of players and abilities.Orbis Non Suficit
