Hate to say it, but this is starting to feel like 2k is self sabotaging this. 4 weeks out and almost no gameplay.

The senior producer from HB Studios posted a vague post on the 2K forums yesterday, giving some gameplay info:

      https://forums.2k.com/showthread.php...7#post15274897

"There will be more than one swing difficulty to choose from and plenty of customization options to boot."

I am not sure why it's so hard to get any info out of these folks. We still have TWO DAYS of course announcements left - and we already know 3 of the 4 courses they have yet to "reveal"!

There won't be any more info likely shared until next week, so we will be about 3 weeks away from release before we even get our first "deep dive" of any kind of gameplay, online, career mode, new apparel and equipment, etc.

Yeah, and IMO that was the biggest news item to date regarding this release and it opens the door to all sorts of questions and comments, yet it comes as an 'oh btw comment' in a fledgling forum!?

I don't have a clue as to what model their marketing and promotion for this game. Even EA Sports was more forthcoming in their escalating rollouts of the Tiger Woods series, 10 years ago. We might see something Friday, since they'll be done with the dramatic course reveals by then. It was four and a half weeks prior to the launch of TGC 2019 that we got an 18 hole multiplayer stream with Shaun West and TheApexHound, which I found very informative and helpful.

We're now four weeks out from release; I think they're planning on doing it again, but maybe not with TheApexHound, it needs to happen soon. If this rollout is irritating a fanboy of my caliber to the extent that it is, I can't imagine the negative effect it must be having on fence sitters!

It's good that they have official courses where there are actual PGA Tour events. I am struggling to find positive things to say about the pre-release rollout, so I will give them credit for having courses where the Tour plays real life events.

Credit where credit is due, for sure. I also appreciate the real courses tied to real events. That's one of the main reasons Tiger Woods 14 career mode holds such a near and dear place to my video gaming heart. Aside from the majors, it had a bunch of real life events, including the Waste Management Phoenix Open, Farmers Invitational, AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the Memorial, some of the WGC events, etc.

Speaking of the Farmer's and AT&T....how about some West Coast oceanside golf? I know Pebble is out, but Torrey?

Also, after 2 straight weeks of Muirfield, I'd love to tee it up there virtually (well, I'd love to tee it up there really but I'm pretty sure it's an exclusive membership of which I am most certainly not welcome to join LOL...).

Haha...well, if you have a copy of Tiger Woods 14 sitting around, you can play Muirfield Village on that!

I guess I get why they went with the TPC courses...probably easy to obtain the licenses, they have real-life events associated at them, etc.

But c'mon...golf takes place in more than just the TPC bubble. It is played on more than just parkland courses. I know there will be plenty of other user-made courses to fulfill our links course needs, but some attention paid to non-TPC courses would be nice.

Happy last day of course announcements, everyone! Excited to see TPC San Antonio and...something else?

Hoping for a wild card links course, but betting on TPC Southwind.

Here's to more in-depth information about the game coming out soon!

I think their PGA license came with all the TPC courses, remember reading that after TGC 2019 was announced. Probably no extra cost except their time to include those in the game.

They are doing away with the club sets, in favor of the swing difficulty settings. But, like most of this game's features, we have no idea yet what that means.

HB Studios doesn't think of it as difficulty levels. They prefer to think of it as club performance levels, where you have to trade off forgiveness to get more distance, higher trajectory, and more spin. If they go with strictly swing difficulty, all levels will have the same carry and spin, but those playing on the easier level will have more forgiveness.
