    Difficulty question with aim marker

It really bugs me when the aim marker auto selects the distance of a shot, even puts. How can I turn this off. Examples would be: you have a 20 ft. Putt and 5in uphill when you go to aim the aim marker is already sitting at about 25 ft. Another would be a shot that would be in-between clubs, the ai sets the aim marker automatically with the further club and sets it about 90%.

While I know I can still adjust the aim marker, this really bugs me. In a perfect world as a default when I go to aim, whatever club is in my hand would default to 100%. Or on the green the aim marker would default on the hole and I can adjust from there.

I really enjoy all the customization in this game, I just can't figure out this setting.

Re: Difficulty question with aim marker

Unfortunately, even on Master difficulty I don't think there's a way to disable the elevation "prediction" for putting. The options in Master hide the interface, but the power suggestion for the putt (based on elevation from the cup) stays.

It's making putting difficulty pretty one-dimensional right now (you only really have to read left-right break), and I hope it was an oversight that can be patched.

Edit: I just fired up the original Golf Club and I have a feeling this wasn't an oversight - the series has always predicted based on elevation like that. So, I'd suggest setting the distance control meter to either Percentage only or off - while this won't change the game predicting the necessary putt power, it won't be as easily accessible to the user - seeing just a percentage is guesswork based on your max putt power, and having it off leaves you entirely on your own (and mimics how putting was done in the original TGC).

The catch - this changes the display for regular shots too. So you won't have the meter to keep an eye out for overswing or swinging less than 100% on partial shots. This, again, mimics what TGC was like in its earliest days.

Thanks. I was hoping to not have to turn it completely off, but that is probably the route I will go.

      Great game so far!
