2K PGA Tour Simulation System [Solo Society Replacement]

For ease, and my own interest, I've included all LIV golfers in the PGA Tour. But, now I'm considering adding the DP World Tour. Originally, I was not, as I could barely understand their points system, but now I'm definitely considering it.

...hmm.

Going for it—will add the Challenge Tour as well to make an entire golf universe (minus LIV).

Getting closer: all four tours are set up. The PGA and European have some golfers marked in regards to competing on both tours, but overall on the spreadsheets right now, the total amount of names listed for each tour are as follows:

PGA: 260
European: 208
Korn Ferry: 220
Challenge: 240

No overlap on any of those as far as I know—so, a total of 928 golfers in this little universe, nearly ready to go.

Streak tracker is not yet in there, and there will also be a rankings file that is all four tours together to compare. Other than those things, I don't think I'm adding anything else at this time. Each 'Rankings' file has streak, injury, and scenario generators.

Each tour has their own events folder with individual event files already created, with as close as I'm going to get points distributions for final standings (specific to each tour and event).

I'm going to also write up a lengthy 'guide' but as of now, not sure what else I'll add. I will say, this is likely as complex as I'll make them. Anymore automated and to me, it's not worth the bugs that can occur (because I'm lower than an Excel beginner).

Given the free weekend of PGA 2k23 for the Masters you've timed this to perfection! Will definitely be trying V3 very shortly (once I've sufficiently practiced and created my player), and will keep you posted on any bugs that arise.

I should be able to in the next few weeks or so—had to hit pause on this for a bit. I still plan on getting the streak tracker sheet in and then I'll do one big video tutorial going over everything.

How do you select the players for tournaments? Especially those in the lower tiers.

I honestly randomize it and make sure the same players are not playing each week so tournaments get spread around. I'll talk about this in that video once I record it.

Well it has been quite a bit, but I am working on this again. Updating the schedule and all the event files for 2025, but likely will not update players or their 'tier' (that generates their score) because that's too much and at some point I just want to play some tournaments and get a little virtual golf world going.

Once I have things updated I will do a little video showing everything, which will include the whole scenario generator, streak tracker, etc.

Who knows, maybe a psycho like me will want to use this for 2K25 (I still only have 2K21 but eh, it's golf and I'm a super casual).

It's also very likely that I'm going to then create an entirely fictional 'universe' with fictional players, four tours, fictional events, etc and all events I'd play at only fictional courses in the 2K games.

Will use AI to generate players, their nationality, their tier, age, etc. I might even have more fun with that.

Okay, these are as ready as they'll ever be. I updated the schedule for all four tours*, each has an event file created and named for every event with as close to realistic points breakdown. I did not update any golfer 'tiers' or move golfers to whatever tour they're most commonly on as of now, that's still based on early 2024 for the most part.

I fixed some bugs I found in how scores were being calculated once they include added scenarios, injuries, or streaks to a player.

Now I just need to test the 'streak tracker' sheet once more (it's cumbersome but worth it) and then find time to record several videos breaking everything down.

*PGA, European, Korn Ferry, and Challenge—entirely ignored LIV.

Still working on the written guide, but recorded a video to show off the 'streaks, injuries, and scenarios' aspect of the system and how they're generated and how they work within an event. In doing so I found a few bugs that I'll be correcting before I call 'V3' finished and I start playing some rounds myself.
