It will say "source is open" if you have all the workbooks open at the same time. Make sure you are linking them to the location on your computer - then hit check status with all of them open. I think OK should be fine too but if you have all open, it should really say source is open so it knows its looking at the correct workbook.
For this, just go to the last player, click on the row number over on the left so it selects the whole row, and hit copy. Then click the empty row so it selects the entire row and click paste.
That should not be happening if you have the files linked correctly. (The #REF errors). Try re-linking and see if that works. That error is usually caused when you add/delete rows or columns. Is there a specific part of the formula in the formula bar where it says #REF? If you could share a screenshot or something that would help me diagnose the problem.
The hole by hole tab isn't actually blank - the text is white. Highlight it and make it black. It will only fill in numbers for the players that are playing in that particular tournament.
