    Re: PGA 2K21 Bugs/Glitches Thread

    - The game likes to default to "pitch" as the shot type on too many 60-120 yard shots. There's no reason for it and a full swing shot is available with a wedge. It's particularly annoying when it's a straightforward shot that doesn't require much thought and I don't realize until I'm into my backswing.

    - Are we sure pitch shot distance control isn't glitched? It's insanely touchy to the point where a few percentage points can mean wildly short shots. It's almost always significantly easier to dial down a full swing wedge or stretch a flop shot than pitch the ball.

Amen... this is at the top of my pet peeve list about this game. I hate to admit how many times I've gone through and executed the shot, with a full shot mind set in gear, even though I know better early in the backswing. No golfer is going to play an 8-iron pitch shot when a full lob wedge would get the job done better. It dang sure shouldn't be the default shot... if anything, make the golfer switch to it.

There's something really funky about the pitch distance. I'm slowly developing my own set of metrics to use with it, but it's taking me time. An 80% pitch doesn't carry the 80% distance it advertises it will. This is something that I wonder if they'll acknowledge and fix in an update? Not holding out a lot of hope for it to be honest... I'll eventually have a somewhat repeatable work-around for it, but it shouldn't have to be that way.

Personally, I like when you hit into a heavy patch of brush/trees and on your next shot, nine times out of ten, you can take a normal swing and the ball will magically get through all everything without issue.

The broken leaderboard is so aggravating. I look to have a big lead, so I start playing more conservatively and go for pars instead of birdies. Then suddenly after my final putt on 18, some player has gained seven strokes on me. It's not as bad as the old Tiger Woods games where the rubber band AI had Tiger literally shooting a 50 if you got off to a hot start, but it's still annoying.

I third this....The default to 110 yard pitch is stupid. I wouldnt mind the option of an 8i pitch if you were forced to control spin and what not, but that is not the way this game works. Even then it should not be the default shot.

I find all pitches / splashes / flops odd. I had like a 40 yrd flop shot from the rough. I had my circle a few yards past the hole, hit the proper % and was barely shot. My ball traveled maybe 10 yrds in the air. I have also had pitch shots come up crazy shot for no apparent reason. For chipping I usually up 2 clubs and back it off a few yards and get it rolling, but I do not use chips much

I agree, I don't get the pitch system. I'm not expecting to stick it by the pin every time, but if I'm going to get a birdie, I'd rather it be from a pitch that gets it semi-close rather than my pitch barely getting it to the fringe and then making a super-long putt from there. Sadly, that's the way I succeed in this game, because pitches and chips are so wonky. I almost would rather be 140 yds away than be 40 yds away.

Curious if anyone else has played the "Ave of the Giants" course. On my PS4 (not Pro), this is the only course I've found so far with constant stuttering and lags. Putting is untenable. Have not had this issue on any other course. It's beautiful, but unplayable for me. I'm guessing there are just too many objects for the processor to render quickly? Anybody else seeing this?

I have not played that course, but I am sure that's what's happening. The planting/object meter in the course designer is probably maxed out and is causing the slowdowns you're seeing.

I will give it a try. Never was a big fan of this in 19.

Wasn't really sure where to put this, because it's not really a bug or glitch, but it seems an overall design issue with the way names display on leaderboards (real first names vs. gamertags) will keep TGC Tours from being on the Switch:

Here's another post on the issue:

                        Actual bug:

The course designer freezes a lot...like every 10-15 minutes or so. A blue screen and an error come up. Same issue happened in TGC 2019.

It's great to hear from you. You win the game when your strokes are powerful. To increase my stroke strength, I am using Pinpoint Golf app. This app give you deep insights into all areas of your game.
