    Career Mode Progress

How's everyone's career mode progressing? After a couple tournaments in the +20s and then a few in the +10 range I had my first solid 4 round tournament. I went -2, -1, E, -3 for a final score of -6. This would've been a top 5 at any other tournament I had played but somehow in this one guys were scoring in the -15 range. Loving this game a little more every time I play it.

    Re: Career Mode Progress

Amazon finally delivered my pre-order yesterday, so I am still just starting out.

Played thru Q-School and the Korn Ferry Tour last night. Playing on a custom difficulty with Pro settings as the base, just to get the hang of things. Both AI and course difficulty are set to normal, and event length set to one round. Took me two times to get through Q-School, and I managed to shoot E in the round that got me through to the KF Tour.

Didn't win any events in the KF Tour, but did finish with a few top 10s. Completed the season ranked No. 7 in points, so I got the promotion up to the PGA Tour. Will be playing two-round regular events in the PGA Tour, and playing four rounds at the majors. I am leaving most of the settings at default or normal for now, but I did turn the AI skill slider up a few notches upon entering the PGA Tour.

I finally qualified for the Korn Ferry Tour last night on my fourth attempt in Pro difficulty (with swing meters off). It felt pretty good actually. This might be the first golf game since PGA Championship Golf 2000 where I actually go all the way through and complete a career season. I hadn't got to the point where the cut scenes annoy me yet, but I can see where that could happen. Too bad there's not a slider where you could adjust the frequency of them. I wouldn't mind seeing two or three of them a round, but then again, only if they were really relevant.

I won two events on the KF tour but I'm playing on Pro-Am with all the helpers on... But now that I'm on the PGA Tour, I'm probably gonna turn things off otherwise I think the game will become to easy for myself.

I was T13 in my first PGA event, I believe I have the players difficulty on Hard 85%.

My career keeps re-setting, I've reached out to 2K, so I'll see what happens. But this is the second time it's happened so I can't even get to the PGA Tour. At this point I don't trust that it will ever work right, so I'd try to get my money back but I'm sure I won't.

My career is going well. I dont have specifics, but have a few questions...

I seem to get decent XP during the rounds and open up additional items. Is every payout 250g? or is there more, saving for some things will be a pain at this rate.

Also, is there anyway to make my golfer improve? Or just the name brande clubs to purchase/unlock?

3 seasons of Qschool, finally qualified. Played 1 season on KF, but didn't play good enough to get into the PGA. So playing the KF again, this time I chose to record the entire progress.

I'm having a blast, and love the realistic gameplay with the true sim approach. I play 4 rounds, so each episode is a round. Feel free to check out the playlist here:

I am about halfway through my first season in the PGA TOUR in career mode, and am up to the Columbus Cup event in the schedule. I have won two tournaments - the Waste Management Phoenix Open and the Trinity Championship (i tied for first in another event, but was not really given the win for that one...that's a topic you can read about in the impressions thread if interested, haha). I have a couple more events to play until the next major, the Northwest Open (aka the US Open).

I am in third in the FedEx Cup points standings, behind the leader Adam Scott and Justin Thomas.

I am working on trying to complete as many sponsor objectives for Callaway as I can...for some reason, I gravitated toward their sponsorship goals and rewards more at this point. I started with Wilson, and worked through a couple levels before moving on. Getting new clubs seems better than getting clothing, too. I think I am close to level 2 of their sponsorship, and have unlocked the Mavrik hybrids.

My bag consists of a Bridgestone driver, Wilson 3 wood, Ben Hogan 4 hybrid, Wilson irons, Callaway wedges, and the putter reward you get for beating Ian Poulter as a rival. My current rival is Matt Kuchar.

                  Re: Career Mode Progress

I'm now in the FedEx Cup playoffs, and have just dismantled the field at The Northern Trust. It was my 5th win of the season - I claimed victories in the Waste Management Phoenix Open, Trinity Championship, John Deere Classic, 3M Open, and The Northern Trust.

I'm now second behind Adam Scott in the race for the FedEx Cup...Adam Scott has won a whopping 8 events this year!

I will say, as I am about to start up the second playoff event, if you complete a sponsor contract like I did after The Northern Trust, you're unable to select a new one for the remainder of the year. It must be due to the fact that there are just 2 events left, and since sponsor deals last 3 events, it doesn't give you any more options. I would assume they come back when Year 2 begins...
