Online Society settings continously wrong

I have custom settings for my online society. When I create an event, I set that events' settings to society default. And yet, often (not every time) I'll boot the event up, and the settings will be wrong.

Any ideas on what causes this / how to overcome?

I'm running into some of that with the two Society's I'm an admin for, but as an admin, I don't have the ability to set a society default. We're doing some experimenting with different settings in our Monday-Wednesday 18 hole tournaments, and some just flat out will not stick.

For example, the "Pins" setting can be set to "Society Default, Open, In, or Out". When I tried to set it to "Out" and then "Create Event", it reverts back to "In". I found that changing it to "Open", it will stick and allows each gamer to have them set according to their base settings.

We're having a bit of a debate about turning "Distance Control", or "Swing Meters", as some call them, being active. Some, like me, find the swing meters distracting for both regular swings and putting. Others need them to have a chance a regulating partial shots.
Here again, you can set the option to "Open", which allows the user to use what they have in their base settings. It doesn't lock a value, which allows some users to have a higher multiplier here for difficulty, if they opt to turn them off in their base settings.

I've submitted a bug report on the difficulty settings and all I got was a ticket # in response. They supposedly did something to fix difficulty settings in Society play in the last patch, but I'm not sure exactly what that was. We'll just have to wait and see what happens with the next update and hope this gets more attention.

Doesn't it irk you when you go back in and edit, or "Update Event", that even though you may have only changed one setting, it wipes out your event name and makes you enter it again!? Grrrrrrrr.....
