Good write up on this mode.
All the glitches and AI player issues keep me from really having any excitement about Divot Derby, not to mention I just can't get into "speed golf", I guess.
If you're unaware of the AI player issues, just have a look at this video - all the AI players hole out from the fairway:

Not to mention, I haven't even been able to connect to a Divot Derby match on PS4 the last few days. So even if I did want to try it more, I can't.
Lastly, the rewards for playing the mode don't really seem to be worth the effort. I think you get something like 250 XP for winning a Divot Derby. XP, at this point in the game's release and with the way the XP system is, doesn't mean really much at all.
