What would actually be cool Would be if they integrate real live shot link data into tournaments and map cpu player outcomes to that - so that it is possible to do a proper play-along in the tourneys.

That would absolutely be next-level amazing - so you could play against the pro's at the actual tournament they're playing in real life with their actual results being put into the game (maybe even in close-to-real-time). I think there's a 0% chance that that will ever happen, but I love where your head is at!

Why not? The data is there to be used. All that is needed is really a system that takes shot outcome and makes the AI play a shot that ends up there. Probably already a thing that already exists for golf game AI.

Imagine if EA pulled that off …. One one side, you have EA showing lifelike accurate ai shots, on the 2K side you see Justin Thomas chipping in every single shot with his ps2 model.

I'm not saying the technology to do it isn't there, I'm referring to the fact that I doubt EA will take that extra step to do it (because it would be expensive and laborious).

I'm interested in what EA will do with their game, but I'll believe it when I see it. Right now, it's easy to project whatever we hope/want onto the EA game because it doesn't exist at the moment, but they have a very long history of promising all sorts of stuff and never delivering anything even close to their 'aspirational' promises (if you are in the mood to be charitable or otherwise inclined to euphamisms).

When it comes to EA, in my experience, they don't get any benefit of the doubt. They'll have to prove it 'on the field'.

Lol. Interesting news. I like that top golfers at the end of the year are given the the opportunity to take home the FedExCup.
