It's always felt so weird to me when content like this comes along out of the blue to "bump" an existing product that is not even remotely new anymore, etc.

I don't fault anyone as I know money pays the bills..
Just curious if sponsored/promoted content is a "thing" around here?

Having just played the course in real life, the Bandon Dunes LiDAR course is ****ing awesome too.

Definitely not sponsored. We are all looking forward to what the future holds for the series, but there are users that still play this game and enjoy it.

I can attest to 7 of the choices as being viable. There are three listed that I've never played before: Sand Hills GC, Alotian Club, and Black Lake. I will remedy that situation starting today! I would have to put PGA National (Champion) in the top 10, along with FriendBOMBER's latest version of Pebble Beach.

Interesting article and thanks for showing some love to the talented designers who create these masterpieces. They're as responsible for the longevity of the game itself and the game's development team IMO!

I still play 15-20 rounds a week, alone playing 9 hole matchmaking and with a buddy online. Nice article. We played Black Rock last night and it's stunning. We are looking into playing the real course, we had never heard of it before.

What is FriendBomber's Pebble Beach called in the search? Would like to check that out.

The Augusta clone (search in 2K21 instead for "Big Golf Weekend 2020", as well as the "Wednesday Par 3 Contest", since the other options are censored) and Winged Foot West (Open) were done by theclv24, a fantastic designer over at the TGC Tours forums. And those are just a couple of the amazing real-life courses he's done.

He recently published "Kingsley Club 2022", a private course in Michigan which is amazing. He's also done the following:

Crystal Downs CC (L)
Meadowbrook CC Lidar
The Motown Club, 1916 - a faithful "restoration" of the Detroit Golf Club back to its more original Donald Ross design
Erin Hills and Erin Hills (Tour)
Merion East and Merion East (Tour)
Oakmont Country Club and Oakmont CC (Tour)
Chambers Bay and Chambers Bay (Tour)
Shoreacres (LiDAR)

He's also done great non-US courses, like (due to licensing reasons) "Her Majesty's Open at TOC" and "Auld Grey Toon" - stand-ins for the home of golf...

As for Pebble Beach, there are several decent options. Look for "The Bing Crobsy Classic", "Cobble Beach GL (Tour)" or "119th U.S. Open".

Great list of courses, although I'm ashamed to admit that there's a few on there I've not played. I'll give them all a go here soon. You should include your Lothmoor Abbey course in your personal list. We just played that course yesterday in the Digital Sportspage Society tournament and it's a nyce 'un!

There is an Oak Hill in the game...can't recall the name of it exactly, and I haven't played it so I don't know if it's the same one that was in TGC 2019. But I do have it saved in my Favorites in-game.

EDIT - just found it and played it...it's called "Oak Hill E. Course Rochester NY". Seemed decent enough from what I could remember about the actual course.
