You can't play as any Pro's in 2k21?
Man ... that must have been a cheap licensing dealComment

Re: It now seems logical we will get PGA Tour 2k23 this year
The pros shown are:
Billy Horschel
Bryson DeChambeau
Cameron Champ
Gary Woodland
Ian Poulter
Jim Furyk
Justin Thomas
Kevin Kisner
Matt Kuchar
Patrick Cantlay
Sergio Garcia
Tony Finau
I believe I turned off the pro highlights within a week of getting the game, because they were basically all pitch-shot hole outs, and would display the wrong score for the pro most of the time, anyway...hahaLast edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 05-23-2022, 04:48 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Pros are not playable in 2K21...they are only shown on loading screens and in canned "highlights" when playing in career mode.

Re: It now seems logical we will get PGA Tour 2k23 this year
Do we feel like HB can create the game everyone wants?
Are we hoping 2K ownership also meant some turnover and beefing up the staff at HB?
I hope 2k didn't just buy them so they controlled them (financially) but otherwise just left HB as is. I always feel the HB golf offerings eventually ran up against their vision/imagination and perhaps even staff ability.Comment

I would imagine the ongoing problems with career can't be fixed for some reason.Comment

So they seem to be investing and adding to the team, likely using the increased funding/backing from 2K to do so.
As for what they can/cannot fix or what the ceiling is for their golf game, I mean they've basically been using the same engine for this series since 2015 or so. So yeah, they're probably at their limit, at least on last-gen. But the issues 2K21 has seem like ones that should easily be fixed...I mean, AI scoring in career mode is essentially a spreadsheet. Just clean up the coding/data and boom, you're golden. If they can't fix it for some reason, then they have bigger problems they need to look at, IMO. And they never fixed it in 2K21, so maybe that's actually closer to the reality...woof.
Graphics are another thing...not sure how much better they can make their game look. Gameplay is always something that can be tweaked and refined, so there could be adjustments with that.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 05-24-2022, 11:28 AM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

I would argue 19 has its advantages over 21.Comment

Re: It now seems logical we will get PGA Tour 2k23 this year
There's a thing or two that 19 may have over 2K21...namely, the solo societies.
But in most other ways, 2K21 is better, IMO. More real courses, more actual PGA Tour events (even if career mode is buggy), more versatility in the course designer, more actual golf clothing and gear brands (including Titleist/FootJoy, which was never available to be worn/used by created characters in a game before, as far as I can recall), and in my opinion, better gameplay. I tried going back to TGC19, just to see how it is, and I didn't like how it played, now that 2K21 gameplay is out there. Even the graphics/animations are a pretty sizeable bump up from TGC19.
TGC19 can appeal more than 2K21 to certain users, especially for the solo society/offline player. But in most other ways, 2K21 is a much more robust game.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 05-24-2022, 12:05 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

I think I just prefer 19 because it has a more “Golf Club” feel to it, more like the originals? Also seemingly more customization.
Still I prefer EA golf over both.Comment

I re-installed 19 a while back played a few rounds and IMO it is not as good as 21.Comment

Yeah, I just played it a bit. Maybe I had some rose tented glasses on.
There’s some aspects I like 19 better, but I walk back what I said about preferring it overall.

They gave up on the forum, that's all. I'm surprised it's still there, they were supposed to move to 2K... and never did. The last time I went there, it was the same handful writing wall of texts trying to prove who was more hardcore as a know-it-all golfer.Comment
