Re: PGA 2K23 MyCareer/MyPlayer Questions? Ask Here
Since there was a bit of confusion last time, could you please ask:
- Are MyCareer leaderboards fixed, with scores and leaderboard positioning no longer changing when players logout and log back into the mode? (AKA, is the career mode leaderboard glitch fixed?)
- Will MyCareer PGA Tour schedules be customizable? Can fake events (the ones not held at real-life courses with real names/sponsors) be edited, so that custom courses created by the community can be added to the schedule in place of fake events? If so, can the names of the events be edited as well? And how will AI scoring work at events that have been edited?
I would maybe need more context here to answer this for you.
- Are sponsorships in MyCareer mode any different than how they were in 2K21, where you'd simply unlock gear by accomplishing certain feats? If you're sponsored by, say, Callaway, can you still play Titleist clubs, or will being sponsored actually mean you have to use/wear the brands you "endorse".
- How are pros handled in MyCareer mode? Kind of ties into the previous question by countryboy...but how are the real golfers used in the mode? Are they simply "rivals" and cutscenes like they were in 2K21, or have they been added more extensively?
- How will caddies be used during play? Are they simply visual, or do they factor into gameplay at all?
- What additions have been made to MyCareer to make the mode more immersive? In 2K21, the mode got stale after awhile, since it was just the same thing over and over again...play tourney rounds, defeat rivals, unlock sponsor gear, repeat.
- For MyPlayer...how does unlocking of gear/clothing/equipment go? Is it again just using VC (in-game currency) to unlock? Will DLC items be available to be unlocked via VC if you don't pay for the Clubhouse Pass, like it was in 2K21?
- Any new gear/apparel brands in 2K23?
- I believe it's been said that the skills of a MyPlayer are taken with them online...does this mean users have to play as their MyPlayer in societies as is, with all their skills and perks loaded? Can societies level the playing field at all by locking out MyPlayer skills/badges/etc.?
-It seems to be more just an extension of the rivals component.
-They're purely visual
-Yeah, I don't think what you're hoping for really is here. It feels like it's still structured with not a ton of surprises. Seeing more stuff in cutscenes is cool, but in the menus and during actual "live" action there's not oodles of new stuff.
-From how they've talked about DLC stuff so far, it still seems like you won't technically need to spend money to get any one item. But without seeing the Clubhouse Pass in-game, it's impossible to know for sure how it will shake out.
-There are new brands. Some of the companies were listed in Kevin's preview, but I don't remember them off-hand myself.
-Yes, you can have to play with your player in Societies as is.
-Is the full roster of pros that was just announced the only ones that will be in Career Mode, or will each event list a full field of pros as in 2k21, in addition to the playable pros?
-If there are additional pros other than the playable ones, how will their shots be handled from our point of view? Will we see a ghost ball of their shots, or just their scores? How will these pros appear to us in a playoff, when we're tied with a non playable pro?
-Just the scores. During a playoff, sadly you don't see shot for shot either.
Nope, no season with a real pro.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.Comment
