Some good points in this article but ultimately what the game needs is a new more competent development studio.
Only a lazy development studio would rely on 3rd party tours & community created content to pad their lacking efforts out to give the perception of value for money.

Had another comment all written up and ended up deleting it...but I just wanted to add to this anyway.

I enjoy TGCT a lot. What's funny is that TGCT, despite how enjoyable it is, is a very, very small portion of this game's fanbase.

I crunched the numbers earlier today and at that point, just about 1,100 people had played their weekly rounds across all tours and consoles there. If this game has sold 50,000 copies to this point on all systems it's available for, that's like 2% of the user base. That number will go up a bit, since players have until Wednesday to finish their first two rounds, but still.

So, while TGCT is an important part of the 2K golf community, it's such a small part that the devs should be focusing on a game for ALL. Sometimes, it feels like those in the minority there get much more influence on things (for example, many TGCT players were vocal about locking consumable golf balls out of societies, and that is now an option).

Lastly, the fact that a 3rd party group can do a career mode better than the actual game speaks volumes. TGCT can use any and all courses they want, track a ton of stats, keep an "official world golf ranking", etc. Meanwhile, the actual MyCareer is a stuttery mess with usually working leaderboards, a limited number of courses for use, and odd bits of broken immersion that holds it back quite a bit.

HB have opportunities to improve 2K23 staring them in the face. Career event majors could easily feed into a live event to give the game some variety.Instead they just make a dull career & pointless online modes, Merge the two together & you have something to play for.
