Really looking forward to this! I know I’m probably in the minority, but I’m more of a “play now” or “kickoff” mode player. Usually I’ll just play an individual game not associated with franchise/seasons or online play. Golf is perfect for that. One option I love on 2k that I hope EA includes is the ability to turn off the crowd. After work, I love to unwind by playing a round by myself with just the sounds of nature and beautiful scenery. With these graphics and 30 courses, that would keep me happy for a while.

Very excited for this game also. Graphics and gameplay look sharp. I enjoy 2K23, but feel they are too rigid with the ability to customize certain basic aspects of the game. For some reason they seem to not want you to use the pro golfers in their full capacity (i.e absence in Career mode and no head to head rounds with other pros in Casual mode).

Appreciate seeing on EA PGA Tour the pro golfers name on the screen versus a gamertag id.

Will you be able to play multiple users in Career Mode?

          @Rangiant

Great call re: turning off the crowds and tournament atmosphere stuff.

I really hope they allow that. I want to enjoy the beautiful course scenery without all that from time to time

Pretty sure I saw in the gameplay overview they showed a setting where you can turn off the crowd

Since most here have upgraded to current gen consoles or have a superior gaming PC rig a question.

Is it worth upgrading from a PS4 to the 5 if you only have a 1080p TV?

For the most part I just play 2k23 once in a while GTA5 and Red Dead 2.

My gaming is done from 10 feet television viewing 12-16 feet so even upgrading to a halfway decent 4k panel I doubt I will even experience 4k at all.

If you were to get a low to mid range 4k panel that has 2.1 HDMI but only does 60hz is that even worth it or do you really have to bit the bullet and go for close to a thousand bucks to get anything close to the 4k experience?

What size are you talking and would you be using the tv for regular viewing as well or just gaming? Regardless the tv with a ps5 you would be gaining a better or at least steadier framerate but yeah 4k tv with hdr would be your best bet.

How big is your screen? My guess is from 10-12 feet away it probably isn't worth it. According to charts about this stuff you would need 75" TV at that distance. Whether or not that is true, I'm not sure. I feel I can determine 4K from around that distance on my 65" but it us subtle.

I will say TV makes difference as well. I used to have a cheaper 4K LG LCD. It looked better than 1080p on PS5 but lag was bad unless putting it in gaming mode and then picture wasn't the best.

So, when I got PS5 I then bought a cheaper 28" 4K monitor (no HDR and 60mhz). This is what I used for the first few months. Experience was good.

I then got LG C1 48" for gaming and office (which we really liked and ended up upgrading living room to C2 model). This was better (HDR, VRR, 120fps ability, better image). However, most PS5 games don't utilize 120FPS and to be honest, even with these top of line TVs I'm not sold on HDR for gaming. So to me, the experience so far is only a small upgrade from gaming monitor

My recommendation if not wanting to spend a lot on new TV but wanting to experience 4K would be to buy a 4K monitor. Even if it is only 60FPS and not HDMI 2.1. You won't notice screen tearing and it will be visually be a nice jump over PS4 you are used to.

I know this doesn't match up with sitting 10 feet away as you describe. I don't think at that distance it will matter too much what resolution you are gaming in.

I will add that I personally need to be close to TV or monitor for gaming. I've never been one to sit on couch and game. I've always pulled chair up to TV or sat in chair next to desk to game. So my experiences are different than what your ideal set up is.

I have an LG CX and imho hdr makes a world of difference not only in pop but also in attention to detail.

I second this. I have the same TV and HDR is a bigger difference than 4k at that range.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm playing 10 feet away on a 1080p same TV used for viewing television from 15 feet away or further. YTTV Netflix Disney whatever.

One thing to be aware of with 4k tv's is normal tv viewing and how it upscales 1080 or 720 to 4k. Although most tv's are fairly decent now some are better than others, esp when watching fast action sports.

This is a good site for checking reviews etc on pretty much any tv.

Been reading there forever looks like $1000 gets a mid range 65 inch set. Hisense 8 series something like that. Distance is the wild card and the reason I haven't upgraded yet. Lot of money to play one game.
