EA PGA TOUR 23 - PC Specs - Min seems really low

Looking at these minimum specs, does anyone else wonder what resolution and settings they are proposing be run on a machine like this?

A 6600k + 1050Ti wasn't really even much of a gaming PC when those parts were brand new (at least on GPU side).

The 6600k came out in July of 2015 (literally when Rory 15 on PS4/XB1 came out)
The 1050Ti came out in 2016

    These minimums seem suspiciously low.
    What does everyone else think?

Do you think an I7 4790k with gtx 1070 would run it?

CPU too old - GPU would be fine though I would imagine, at least based upon their listed specs.

But they aren't telling us what the resolution or settings or FPS will be like with the specs they list.

      It's hard to know honestly

It's seems amazing to me that a 6600k+RX 570 (or 1050ti) could run this at all...but there it is as a min spec.

        I meant 4790k instead of 4690

Those are all older gen than the min spec they’ve listed.
Maybe it would run, but I’m not sure how EA might gatekeep the min specs.

Might check for something at launch and prevent you from even trying?

FIFA 23 on PC is the next gen version, and has very similar specs for min/recommended. I get 4k ultra with the hair effects on and no scaling and still average 170fps.

I am not worried at all with framerate with PGA. I'll get at least 4k/60 if not more.

            RTX 4080
            32gb 3200mhz ram
            Nvme SSD
            LETS GO EAGLES
            LETS GO CELTICS
            LETS GO SYRACUSE

            GT: xGBx Boogie
            Xbox Series X
            PC: Ryzen 7 5800x, RTX 4080, 32GB Ram

              Well, yeah, you will!
Look at that BEAST PC you have! lol

I guess I just wonder how the base specs could be so meager, but acceptable ... yet the PS5/XBSX can't do above 30fps at 4k?

              Just seems really odd.
I wonder what resolution/fps combo EA is envisioning with the min spec hardware.

We should also note that FIFA gets a TON of investment and is quite likely on a much newer/cutting edge version of Frostbite, which has many flavors

Maybe it lends hope to the thought of consoles getting some performance mode options for things like 1080p/60fps? Surely nobody with 2015/2016 hardware is going to be able to play PGA 23 at 4k

These minimum PC specs really make me wonder why this wasn't brought out for PS4/XB1

If PGA 23 can run acceptably on a CPU/GPU from 2015/2016, it sure seems like it could run on a PS4/XB1

I thought the "next gen only" was needed, but that appears to not necessarily be true

Frostbite always runs well even on lower end PCs. That's why I'm surprised they don't still release ea sports NHL on it.

But we've yet to have a true next gen sports game on the PC honestly. Fifa 23 looks alright but still doesn't measure up to NBA 2k on next gen consoles. It probably never will without a new graphics engine.

Maybe the game couldn't legitimately couldn't run on last gen hardware or it's a marketing ploy by EA to make you think the game isn't little more than Rory with a new shade of lipstick.

Maybe the minimum specs are for 1080p medium settings.
