Both Xbox & PS store have updated today to show April 6th (first round of Masters Thursday), and so I assume the 3rd is when early access starts.

Interestingly, the Xbox page shows 45.06 GB for the game size.

For some reason I remember 100 GB being talked about at some point?
Is my memory off?

Could they have possibly pared down what comes exactly at release immediately?

It's wild to me that the specific dates still keep shifting slightly
Two days ago they announced the 7th, and it already went to the 6th?

The 100GB might be the total after all the extra courses are added after launch.

That's just a little odd, since that contradicts what EA said in their tweet about the delay sent on Friday:

"EA SPORTS PGA TOUR will now launch the week of the Masters Tournament, with an early access release on Tuesday, April 4 and worldwide launch on Friday, April 7."

I mean, one day is just one day, but it seems there's some real quirkiness about this game's launch. Really hoping for more info to drop this week, especially on career mode.

The game was originally going to be released with Early Access on a Tuesday, and normal release on a Friday. That seems to be standard practice for most games these days.

If it ends up being a Monday Early Access/Thursday normal release, it's kind of odd and would buck the norm. However, that would better fit in with the start of the Masters, releasing the game on the same day the event gets underway.

Isn't it launching with 30 courses?
Wouldn't those be part of the size if it comes with them all, straight away?

I like to watch anything about The Masters the week of not starting on Thursday. It might have made more sense to release before the first round but what do I know?

Maybe they initially thought, "Hey, most games do the Tuesday/Friday release. Ours was, too...let's just keep that."

But then they maybe realized or discovered they needed less time than they thought for these "finishing touches", and could get the game out on the day the Masters start, instead of the second day of the tourney and really capture those excited about it?

IDK...this does seem kind of weird, but so does a 2-week delay, just 3 weeks from launch. Just spit-balling ideas as to what may have happened.

I think someone at The Masters finally took note of this game coming and release dates and blew a fuse when the game was releasing 2 weeks before the Masters... and said "make it come out the week of our event!"

So they did, per Beach's point, on a normal Tues/Fri early/normal video game cadence...

Then that person (or folks there at Augusta) blew another fuse when it wasn't coming out on THURSDAY!!

In fact -- I now think the delays from March to early April have nothing to do with adding or tweaking anything about the game at all -- and it's 100% a marketing change

When I look at the PS Store's listing of the game, it says it will be released at 11 p.m. CDT on 4/6. This is because the game will be out on the 7th, and the eastern time zone will have hit midnight then.

So it might just be due to the time zone you're in...that the game still comes out 4/7 at midnight, but because you're in a different time zone, you get it late on 4/6.
