I know on Xbox, you can change region to New Zealand and say if your on the east coast US, you can play at 7am on Monday. That is if they are releasing at midnight in each timezone.

This was quite the popular technique when the other golf game released back in October...people were wondering how footage of the game was hitting the internet so early!

EA play for PS5 is worth every penny in the case of a game like this where there has been no real gameplay footage and a random unexplained release delay.
I would love for this game to meet my original realistic expectations from months ago but as time goes on there seems to be more things coming up like the hole out animations that make it unclear of what EA is going for here and until we play it and see exactly what the career mode is like it's risky to pre order.

I am honestly blown away that anybody saw that internally and thought it was good enough to definitely show it (and ship it?) like that

It’s executed in a way that has no polish, no refinement, no elegance, no class…just no taste

Straight up cheap mobile game vibe
...and in the game where we get The Masters again finally?

I really hope that’s tweaked, optional or flat out gone in the release version

100% agree. That was one of my biggest gripes watching the trailers so far. I am surprised Augusta would allow something like that to pop up out of a hole. The commentary would be enough, let alone the hud just prior to putting and approaching the green. Just breaks immersion, but wouldn't be something to stop me from playing.

ANGC is still ANGC, but they have been softening their attitudes in some ways recently. Just look at the "Dude Perfect" video they allowed to be shot at Augusta with Bryson DeChambeau last year.

I think someone at The Masters finally took note of this game coming and release dates and blew a fuse when the game was releasing 2 weeks before the Masters... and said "make it come out the week of our event!"

So they did, per Beach's point, on a normal Tues/Fri early/normal video game cadence...

Then that person (or folks there at Augusta) blew another fuse when it wasn't coming out on THURSDAY!!

In fact -- I now think the delays from March to early April have nothing to do with adding or tweaking anything about the game at all -- and it's 100% a marketing change

IMO it’s a smart move. Honestly surprised this wasn’t the original release date. Sucks for us to wait two more weeks, but they’ll get the hardcore golfer who wants that Augusta “experience” on Tuesday then bombard with advertising Thursday through Sunday. Must’ve projected with mlb the show releasing the same week, sales might’ve been soft.

Had to jump thru a few hoops, but eventually got to a page to submit a refund for preorder, and Microsoft granted it near immediately.

Hoping all the red flags are for nothing and a solid game launches next month!

I just realized I hope there isn't an issue of FPS drops when you play from Blue-Black tees due to having to load in more foilage and the like on screen just like in the 360 era.
