    calling all PGA2K23 gurus...

I recently went out and bought PGA2K23 for PS5.

I'm not extremely into golf in fact barely watch it but like playing on the console.

Other than the 20 REAL courses it comes with ,

1.) has anyone made any other REAL courses?

2.) What courses other than the real ones would you guys recommend?

thanks so much for your help and opinions.
    I am the way
    I am the light
I am the dark inside the night.
    I hear your hopes
    I feel your dreams
And in the dark I hear your screams
Don't turn away, Just take my hand
I'll never leave, All I ask of you, Is Believe.

    1) Yes, there are lots and lots of real courses in the game that are made by community designers. Here are a few I'd recommend:

    - The Nolia 2018
    - Merion East 2022
    - Oakmont Country Club
    - Winged Foot West (L)
    - Chicago Golf Club
    - Kingsley Club (L)
    - There are multiple St Andrews out there, I think one's "150th Open Championship" or something
    - Shameless plug: I have made the following real courses in the game: Whistling Straits (Irish), Brown Deer Park GC (Tour), Charleston Muni Redesign

    2) There are a TON of other courses that aren't real that are in the game, made by users, that are very good. It would be pretty hard to list them all here, or even try to come up with a selection of them to try. I'd suggest going to the TGCTours database here: https://www.tgctours.com/Course/Tgc2...=&Grid-filter=

These courses are reviewed by people at TGCTours and meet their "approval" standards. You can also follow the thread here for new courses that get released: https://tgctours.proboards.com/board...pleted-courses

    Hope this helps!

Hey my friend, thanks so much for helping me. It's truly appreciated.

Will check out the courses you listed, and YES YOURS will be downloaded as welll

Speaking of that, what's the maximum amount of courses you can have downloaded at one time?

The courses are all on the server you don't download anything but you can favorite as many as you want. I would suggest keeping a list according to course type. Links heath sandbelt etc.

Makes one wonder if they'll negate the chance to use created courses with new iterations moving forward (a la The Show).

The course designer is the one major feature that sets PGA 2K apart from others on the market. While I do think PGA 2K needs some kind of visual upgrade, they really cannot afford to lose the course designer and all the courses that have been made in the game over the last 10 or so years.

The other main feature that 2K has that EA does not (at least at this point) is Societies. The Societies need created courses to continue long-term, as playing the official ones over and over again would kind of make Societies irrelevant - that would make Societies essentially just another career mode. Created courses are why a Society like TGCTours can exist for years - they've had a steady stream of new courses coming out since they started. If that goes away, so does a good portion of the community around the game.

Check out the TGC Tours forums and look under the “completed course” section. There are hundred of real courses and thousands of incredible user created courses.

I for one have created 15 real courses, mostly in Rhode Island and probably a dozen or so user courses over the years as apart of contests they run.

As an EXTREME newbie, step by step how do I do a favorite after picking my course?

                  - Go to "Casual" on the main menu and enter that area of the game

                  - On the next screen, choose one of the filters that are on there, or you can choose more filters, too...if you want a specific course and know the name of it, just go to the "Search" filter and enter the course name. Otherwise, by going into the more filters area, you can filter by highest rated courses, recently added courses, etc.

                  - When you filter down to the course you want, go into the "Course Details" for that specific course when you have the course you want to favorite highlighted (I think it's Triangle on PS or Y on Xbox to get into the Course Details screen)...OR you can also access the course details by actually selecting the course and going to the screen where you'd go to start a round. On that screen, you'll see a "Course Details" button on the right side of the screen, under the course screenshot:

                  - One of the options on that screen should be "Favorite This Course" or something like that...just click that button and the course will now show up under the "My Favorite Courses" filter

I echo the same thoughts as Beach. To me and others, the ability to create courses is a major selling point that makes 2K different from its competitor. Yeah, it's cool to have amateurs like Michael Jordan in the game, but being able to not just download but especially upload a course you created? To me that even mimics real life when you hear or know that a certain person designed a course.
