    PGA2K23 courses?

I was told that you don't "download" courses in 23.

I was curious if/when the server is closed hopefully in the FAR future, does that mean we won't be able to play this game anymore?

Once the servers are shut down for 2K golf games, you'll only be able to play local casual rounds at official courses. Career mode will be unavailable, as will all created courses done by the community.

Thanks mrarlington, as always appreciate the info

Just curious can you play the same created courses on pga2K21 as you can on 23?

Or are they on seperate servers kind of like MLB the show?

Many can...it all depends on if the designer ported their course from 2K21 to 2K23. If they did, you can play it. If not, it will be unavailable on 2K23 and you have to play it on 2K21.

That was always a concern. Even the servers are still up for TGC2 so I don't think it's a concern really. If they do decide to shut down the servers I would hope they might offer some kind of a cheap subscription so you could still play.

I agree with that. I cant see them shutting down the server so you can only play courses in the game already.

Just remember EA Sports PGA TOUR has ALREADY MORE in game courses then PGA2K23. So if that's the case and I'm only getting less courses because of the server then I'll probably jump ship to EA.

              thoughts?

2k has the course creator. Quite a few designers in the game produce courses that are vastly superior to the Official ones. So to say that there are more courses in EA than 2k is inaccurate. A few of the courses in the EA game are atrocious.

I think he’s saying EA will have more if the servers are ever shut down. Can’t play created courses offline. And atrocious is a stretch.

Wolf Creek looked better on the PS2. Liberty National doesn't look a whole lot better. He said EA has more courses than 2k.

                      Re: PGA2K23 courses?

Just to tie a bow on this...

                      - EA has more real-life licensed courses than 2K does (29 to 26, at the moment - EA will be adding at least 4 more, and 2K has said Pinehurst No. 2 is coming).

                      - 2K has more overall courses than EA does, due to the course creator.

                      - If both games ever lose server connection, EA will offer more real courses than 2K. But both games will only allow you to play them in local/casual rounds. Career mode will not be available on either game. Created courses would not be available in 2K, and you'd only be left with the "official" courses - the real licensed ones and the "2K Official" ones which are fictional and made by their 2K NextMaker designer folks. Because of this, 2K with no server connection would likely actually have more total courses than EA with no server connection, thanks to those fictional "2K Official" tracks.
