Nice article. I agree, it would be great to see legends in the game.

I hope more legends get incorporated into all sports games. I realize they may not be for everyone but NBA2K and the ERAs mode opened my eyes to how much fun it can be to incorporate the past into video games (NBA 2K Era mode was one of the best sports games additions I have ever seen and I've been playing since Atari 2600 days). For an older gamer it is fun to go back to my youth and play out those moments. I think this can be fun for younger players as well (a look at Ultimate Team type modes shows this I think).

Hopefully it is something we see more of.

      Thank you very much, Brew.

Yes, I completely agree that all sports games should feature the greats. I absolutely love the Eras mode in 2K and totally agree it's one of the best sports game modes ever made. As a Bulls fan, it was a ton of fun playing with the Reggie Theus-led Bulls then the Jordan teams, and then the Jalen Rose, Eddy Curry Tyson Chandler team of the early 2000s.

You also hit on the head with the audience side of things. It can have the older gamers reminisce about past greats while it gives the younger gamers a chance to experience and learn more about these players. That's one thing MLB The Show is trying to do with 23 is, not only have gamers play with Negro League legends but to sort of educate as well while having fun.

Super Mega Baseball 4 also has legends and there are tons of great ones included there as well (I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of former White Sox players that are in the game, being a fan of the team.).

Definitely looking forward to seeing what sports games continues to push with the history of their respective sports.
      NBA: Chicago Bulls

      NFL: Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons

MLB: Chicago White Sox (pray for me)

College: Northwestern, UIC, Notre Dame, Alabama, College of DuPage

Football (Soccer): Chicago Fire and Liverpool

Unfortunately this is EA we're talking about. Maybe they'll add legends once they get their Ultimate Team going for this game.
