    2k23 golf question

Does the lie range stat for clubs apply to the club I used to hit the ball in the rough or the club I'm using to hit the ball out of the rough?

    Thanks for any replies.

It's the club you are using to hit it out of the rough.

PGA 2K23 keeps a lot of the gameplay the same from 2K21 and other previous entries in the TGC series.

        The major differences are:

        - 2K23 has consumable golf balls (they are golf balls that have various attributes, and when you use one, it goes away - you need to keep your collection re-stocked by buying them with in-game currency or earning them thru random drops, sponsor or rivalry rewards in career mode, etc.).
        - your MyPlayer created character has an archetype you get to choose, like Rhythm, Powerhouse, etc., each which have certain strengths and weaknesses.
        - as you level up (level 50 is the max), you get Skill Points, which you can apply to your player for added attribute benefits.
        - you can add fittings to your clubs, which affect their attributes. You earn fittings from simply playing the game, and they cannot be bought with in-game currency.
        - there's a 3-click swing mechanic in 2K23, the first time they've had it in series history
        - you can play as a variety of pro golfers and "celebrities" in some game modes now.
        - Topgolf was added
        - There's cross-play in matchmaking, and there's a ranked matchmaking system that allows you to level up and earn rewards.
        - Most of the real-life courses in the game are the same ones that were in PGA 2K21, but some new ones like Pebble Beach, both Torrey Pines North and South courses, Spyglass Hill, and Pinehurst No. 2 are part of the collection and are all useable in career mode.

I think that's most of the major differences between 2K21 and 2K23.

I would suggest heading to the in-game driving range first and doing the tutorials on how the game plays.

Once you get the basics down, I'd jump into career mode, as this seems the best and fastest way to earn XP, fittings, and gear, all while helping you fine tune your abilities. You can set the game up however you want, in terms of settings and AI difficulty, so you can begin to progress fairly quickly.
