So we'll be at the end of life period for the current generation of consoles by the time they update the engine...

This generation has been really disappointing for sports games in terms of a graphical upgrade. Nothing yet has made me go “wow”. Hoping college football ‘25 does that.

I mentioned it in the PGA 2K23 impressions thread, but it sounds like TGCTours are planning on using 2K23 for another season. It's not a guarantee or anything, but that definitely makes it sound like a new game isn't coming as soon as we all hoped.

Not going to a new engine at this point is truly disappointing.
I can’t do another 2/3 years of a tweaked 2k23.
Don’t get me wrong, I have ( and still do ) love this game. It’s still my top game in my rotation, beating out EaFC, NHL 24, CFB25 and TheShow24.
But I’m pretty burnt out with this now.
Lately, I have only turned on my ps5 to charge my phone while I watch a movie or something.
Expensive charger haha!

Maybe going one more with the old engine isn't such a bad thing if the game released spring 2025. Chatter is the PS6 will probably be released fall 2027, it would be a great time to switch engine there.

Ugh...if that all is true (and probably is), it's depressing. Waiting 2 years for a nex-gen golf game from the only game left in town is not good news.

Maybe depressing but kind of a good news at the same time. They will market the game for X Box One and PS4 one more time and this should be it. Then the next one would be on a new engine for the new generation consoles 2027-2028. Who knows, with those new generation consoles, maybe EA will come back again in spring 2028.

Not sure if it's "good news" if it's underwhelming and old looking and sales lag as a result.


They'll be much more likely to just cancel the series vs invest heavily in building a new release on an all new engine.

Soon, it's going to be time to dump the PS5/XBox X/S too. At this point, 2K might as well wait as long as possible to switch engine that will best suit those new generation consoles end 2027.

Imagine the sheer disappointment not just for this series but for nearly all video games when they produce a title for 3 generations of consoles. Now that shouldn't hold graphics back much huh?

This is without a doubt the worst console generation of all time and will be my last purchase.

Save your money don't wait for the PS6 burn 800 bucks on the PS5 Pro which barely does what they promised the 5 was gonna do. Nothing better than burning 800 bucks to play PS4 ports.

Only thing I was still using it for was GT7 and I'm honestly really enjoying Forza for that fix



My PC has a better GPU than the PS5 Pro is even going to have anyways. No thanks on consoles

I hope 2K25 is a thing, although I didn't like how much more prevalent VC was in 2K23 compared to 2K21.

Gaming companies are not using all the consoles capabilities as it is to make their games, I don't see them doing any better with new consoles able to use 8K at 60fps. Even right now, most of what we watched on TV is not even 4K, why would anyone spend lots of money for a 8K TV?
