Is Pebble Beach not available for 2K21?
I see it on TGCTours.com for 2k21, it's named Pebble Beach, but when I enter that into the 2K21 search bar a bunch of entries pop up but none are the Brandon Pugh course that's listed on TGCT. Did something happen such that you can no longer play courses on TGCT? I'm just now getting back into playing the game on Xbox so relearning what's happening.

That said, 2K/HB has been known to remove courses from time to time due to copyright claims and such. Many course designers who make real courses in PGA 2K games have to find creative names for their recreations to avoid filters and such. That's why you won't find any courses named exactly "Augusta National", "St. Andrews", etc. Plenty of courses have been removed from the in-game search due to being based on a high-profile track.
Plus, 2K actually picked up the rights to have an "official" version of Pebble Beach in PGA 2K23.
My best guess is that 2K removed the one that's listed in the TGCTours database due to a request from Pebble Beach's legal department.Orbis Non Suficit -

I might go back and try 2K21 again just to compare. I'll report back here if I do that and report what I see.Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach CutcliffeComment

Re: Is Pebble Beach not available for 2K21?
What I dislike more about 2K23 than 2K21 is that 2K23 introduced consumable balls which are unrealistic as they can be used to stop the ball quickly, add more distance to shots, etc. In turn they tweaked the physics of the game to cater to these consumable balls, so greens feel much more like glass and seem to run off with much more pace than they should have when you use the basic default ball. Big-time societies in TGCTours only allow default balls to be used, so then the game plays like it was meant for the consumable balls, but you can't use them anyway.
Also, 2K23 seemed to have improved graphics in many ways over 2K21, but I also think the lighting in 2K23 is worse than 21. In certain lighting conditions, trees look like they are "glowing" or very shiny.
Overall, I'd say I like 2K23 better than 2K21, but it's not by that large of a margin.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 01-02-2025, 02:23 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment
