PGA Tour 2K21 Servers to Go Down October 30, 2025

Just saw this over at reddit...looks like PGA Tour 2K21's servers will be taken down at the end of October 2025:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/PGA_Tour_2K...te_version_of/

PGA 2K21 is also no longer available on digital storefronts. Virtual currency will no longer be able to be purchased after August 30, 2025.

When the servers are shut down, none of the game's online components will work...this means no career mode, no playing user created courses, etc.

Isn't this the first HB game shutting down? The old HB used to say proudly they were keeping their servers running even for the original TGC.

The first two "The Golf Club" games will lose online support at the end of February 2025:

End of an era, it's really all 2K now.

          For sure.

I think the only reason TGC19 (which was the first 2K published game in the series) is still supported is because it is able to be used along with real golf simulators.

I wonder if someone will come up with private servers to be able to play the MyCareer at least. Shame 2K made this game always online just to shut it down years later.

Buck, I really hate to see you step away, but I do understand your reasoning. I'm really envious of the relationship you have with your Uncle. That is something you can't put a price tag on. You will be missed here for sure though... I think the forum needed the balance you brought to it. I like the fact that you speak your mind and make no apologies for sharing opinions that go against the grain. I have no problem with that and people will start noticing that your perspective is missing before long, and realize what they're missing.

I hope things will work out for you where you'll feel the desire to join back in. I will forever be wondering what your take is on 2K25, provided you ever get a chance to play it

Anyone interested in creating a private server for when the game gets shut down? I'd hate to see thousands of custom courses be shut down and the main game mode be unplayable.

The Golf Club 2019 is also going offline on October 30, 2025, per an email from 2K:

I really hope this model of game design goes away. If you pay for something you should really be able to keep playing it. Tying everything to online is just bad for consumers.

I could see myself happily playing PGA 2k25 longer than 4 years (especially if they don't come out with what I feel us better game). It is disappointing to know that you could sink a lot of hours into something you purchased and enjoy and it can be gone when they decide to pull the plug.

They should at least release a final patch to allow for offline play of user-created courses and course-creator. I don't think anyone expects them to keep servers going forever, but key parts of the game should be playable without the internet.

For those who want to keep playing with known remote friends, you can potentially use Moonlight (joiner) + Sunshine (host) + Tailscale (server) to do so.
