Precisely my thoughts as well. I just doubt they’ll nix the course designer for a new engine. A really amped up version of unity that’s on par with other AAA sports titles, then I’ll buy it.

Heard rumblings elsewhere that the course designer is improved in 2K25, and some of the folks with more knowledge of the upcoming game have said that it's actually not worth porting most courses from 2K23 to 2K25 due to updates to it.

I'm hoping this means, at the very least, updated graphics and assets in a newer version of Unity that older courses would not be able to benefit from. Because it does sound like courses from 2K23 can be brought into 2K25, but it might not be worth it to do so.

I have also seen it mentioned elsewhere that several of the NextMakers could be dropping PGA 2K25 content on their social media accounts this week, so I am hoping we get actual gameplay very soon.

I have a suspicion that 2k purchased rights to the majors and Ryder cup. EA is done with their game and they really need to make a splash considering a 2.5 year release window.

Interesting take on what the comment about it not being worth the effort to port 2K23 courses to 2K25 means for significant improvements in the course designer.

I hope this version has some core level work done on the swing interface, especially on the XBox version. I finally broke down and bought a Gamesir G7 HE controller last week and it's helped tremendously with the swing on my XBox Series X, but it's still not up to the performance I get out of the same game, with the same controller, on my gaming PC. The polling on the XBox is demonstrably more inconsistent than what I get on the PC. At least the Xbox version of 2K23 has become enjoyable to play again with the new controller.

There's some work they could do with the presentation options using a greater variety of camera options, and some enhancements they could make in showing players on adjacent holes or up ahead of you in tournament play. I at least want to see the rest of the players on my group standing where they'd be standing in real life.

I'm anxious to see what they come up with, but I'm not expecting anything truly revolutionary, like making swing path determine hook/slice and tempo to determine push/pull... but I'll give it a chance.

Interesting they’re saying it won’t be worth it to port stuff over. As far as the majors goes I am assuming it’ll be US Open, The Open, and PGA Championship. Unless somehow 2k got the rights to Augusta I doubt that will be in. Unless they are the reason there is an upgrade with the engine.

Interesting they’re saying it won’t be worth it to port stuff over.

More specifically, it was said to port only your absolute favorite courses if you must, but instead focus all your time on making brand new designs in 2K25. It was also said that course designers in the community will not be disappointed in the updates made.

As someone who has 20 real life courses and 15ish others designed for 2k19-23, what types of enhancements have you heard of? Stuff from the TGC forums? Very curious here and cautiously excited considering how little improved from 21 to 23

The conversations have been on a variety of Discord channels. No specifics have been given...there was mention of an embargo in place, so nothing can be talked about yet.

I just hope the only integration of the TGL is the fantasy courses and the match format. Not a game mode I’d regularly play but would at least try out. It would be really stupid to hit into a screen in a video game.
