CC wasn’t even a thought when we [didn’t] even have a roster of actual pga and lpga pros yet. That said, I guess she still is for some LOL.
I know it’s a video game, but I like realism in a video game. As many have said before, it just takes you out of the realism seeing LPGA players on the PGA tour. I think any push back on this might label you an “-ist”, but it’s not that—it’s just the realism you’re wanting (ex: Topspin 2K25 has the white clothing rule for Wimbledon in the game).

I am firmly in the “who cares” camp regarding this issue, but one would think after the outcry of 2k23 they would change it. Sadly I don’t think we’ll get this answer until launch day.

I hope you're right.... But sorry, for me it takes all of the realism out of the game seeing LPGA players names on the leaderboard.

Yes, and the gallery reacted to the ball when it was about to hit them. Crowds look MUCH improved.

Credit to 2K they haven’t tried to hide the legacy shortcomings so I thank them for that.
Definitely not an early access purchase as I’d feel robbed but looking forward to the standard version if the swing mechanics look good.

Before seeing the gameplay trailer I was thinking this game would be a fairly significant update, as opposed to 2k23 which was like a 0.5 tick up, but now I'm thinking this game won't feel that different than 2k23. Especially once we play it for a little while. So Maybe a 0.75 upgrade, as opposed to a fully significant one. Still worth playing tho, obviously.

2K was never going to back off the female players playing in PGA events in this game. If anything they will likely make it more intrusive somehow. Its just the world we live in. Complain about it and you are somehow problematic lol. Is what it is.

If they don't have the rivals system, LPGA players shouldn't be on the leaderboard. They should do the same, and maybe they are, as the old TW games. Having some kind of training or challenges including the LPGA players in there before the PGA tournaments.

Have they fixed the leaderboard glitches? If so, that's the only thing I need to buy this game. Everything else about it looks amazing. I'm giving EA Sports a final sendoff for the next month.

I doubt I'll be buying that for a while. My biggest issue is they all played somewhat the same as the old golf club. I guess it's to be expected as it's the same old engine. And if they have the rivals again, I will end up bored with career mode after going thru them a second time.

I think the trailer looked nice, the new swing seems like a pretty decent and a significant change from the old way of doing it, and there does seem to be some life added to career mode. Getting 3 of 4 majors still surprises me...just can't believe the TGC/2K golf series actually went in on them, and that EA lost exclusivity on them.

That said, I was hoping for significantly more actual detail and information to be provided. The only thing new they actually talked about was a super-easy difficulty mode called "Perfect Swing".

I guess they'll drip-feed it over the next 4-5 weeks, but all the stuff they showed today has zero context to it.

- How does the swing actually work?
- Are rivals still in career mode, and how are real pros implemented? What about the other updates to it, like training...how does that work?
- How do you upgrade your clubs, swing types, etc.?
- What about the new in-game currencies - are any "pay to play"?
- What are the actual updates to the course designer?

...and plenty more, I'm sure.

I'm hoping we get more specifics in the next few days and don't have to wait until right before launch to get clarity, but I guess the trailer did its job in getting me more interested in what's new in terms of gameplay and modes.

I do like the new Evo swing approach to shot shaping. You have to actually angle your swing plane to match what you would do in real life. Being able to do literally any angle or style of shot in 2k23 while doing the exact same motion with your stick has led to a pretty dumbed down experience. Maybe now people will have to think about their shots more, and weigh the risk/reward.

MAB if you get chance can you start a thread or keep it within this one to chat about EVO swing.
Maybe post some screenshots with shot outcomes & we can try work out what’s going on with the new mechanics.

To be fair, they only showed female created golfers playing in the career mode events...they didn't show any leaderboards with female pros' names on them.

In both PGA 2K and EA, if you created a female golfer, you'd play on the PGA Tour no matter what.

I am really hoping the 2K25 leaderboards are realistic in that way, as that is a huge immersion killer...we shall see.

My wish is that they separate the tours for both realism purposes and that I always enjoyed playing with 2 different players so I could play both the PGA Tour and the LPGA Tour. I know the courses are the same, but there was something fun about playing both. Would help promote both tours separately too instead of just the PGA.
