Was curious why something felt off when I was playing this morning. Looks like I’m turning shot bias off for awhile. With all the changes against the consumer today, they are extremely lucky the gameplay is solid.

And by the looks of things, backlash has been swift. Almost every creator I follow has complained.

Which difficulty are you playing on? I’m using the EvoSwing on whatever the hardest one is and it’s definitely a much smaller swing area. The spin part as the arrows makes sense but I’m talking about the actual meter itself is significantly smaller.

I tested all of it on Legend. I don’t think the difficulty setting (between the ones that have shot bias, Pro Master and Legend) really changes the size of the forgiveness zones, the higher difficulties are just more punishing if you miss the sweet spot, but I could be wrong. The meter may have gotten smaller, I did not look into that. I was mainly testing how it changed as you added draw/fade/loft and changed attack angle/spin.

I knew it was too good to be true with the rewarding of the VC. Wish I had of known a nerf was coming or I would have spent all my time grinding.

I hate to be a conspiracy theory guy, but man does the timing of the VC changes reek of pushing everyone to buy VC, particularly the standard edition players.

Increasing prices on everything, and removing basically all ways to earn VC? What else is the goal here, other than pushing people to pull out the credit card?

Seeing many speak of this issue last night, it led to me cancelling my preorder and opting to wait for a sale.

My theory is the devs got some kind of message to restrict the VC economy because they weren’t seeing enough purchases of VC itself, and whatever teams manage VC costs or quest rewards all made major changes without any communication with each other.

I don’t think it should be understated just how major the changes were - the VC per hole nerf and removal of VC rewards from most quests probably amounts to at least a 90-95% drop in VC earnings, while the AP cost is up 40% and most cosmetic costs are up 10%. That’s not just a nerf, that’s a complete destruction of the VC system. I’ll admit I don’t play online-focused games much, but I’d guess changes to this extent do not happen like ever to established games. That said, I can’t really blame people for at least thinking conspiracy theories, because of just how blatant and disgusting this is.

It's horrible, and there's zero justification for the removal of all routes to VC and the increased costs other than GO BUY VC WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD NOW!

I don't care all that much about VC. I have a character at 75, and have about 4k VC. I might take one character to 85, but have no plans to go higher. If I want something higher, I'll use a pro. If I can't do decently well in career mode with a limit of 85 OVR, I'll just have to get better.

Of course, speaking of money, are there any companies that don't want to make a profit? If 2K wants to make money, giving away enormous amounts of VC instead of having user spend some money at the store, is not a sustainable model.

I think the issue with 2K is that the VC they offered initially was way too high, making the the scaling back almost necessary.

And then everyone complains.

Higher ups see how much VC makes on 2K basketball and want the same from their other spots games, while seriously underestimating:

1. The player base on all their other sports games probably still pales in comparison to NBA and;

2. It’s been so ingrained in the NBA landscape now for 10+ years, people buy VC on that game like it’s second nature. Why they expect the same thing from people playing golf (most of which are NOT golf fans and are just going to pick this game up casually, as opposed to NBA where there is a very strict and established ranked system)

It really does reek of suits intervening and the devs having their hands forced. The devs knew what they were doing when they implemented the original numbers, because this game is not NBA and they knew that a majority of players just want to play the game and level up naturally, and aren’t going to be enticed to buy VC to compete the same way they do in NBA, they’ll just stop playing

It's one thing to scale things back, which I agree was needed. It's another to go the nuclear option and remove any way of really earning VC...AND raising the price of everything, including attribute points to level your player up.

The increasing prices is the part that bothers me. Like I said the VC rewards were too high and there should be a bit of a grind to level your player up. However jacking prices up by 2-3x in the superstore is an absolute joke. 2k loves their micro-transactions and I don’t see that changing any time soon unfortunately.
