Can you play against the cpu in a local match? If not, the only thing I can do is practice on a user created course? I am strictly a solo player by the way. Thank you.

No, at best what you can do is add a “ghost” player, and turn turn order on. This will be against the ghost of another player who has already completed their round. The downside of this is that you can see their final score beforehand, although perhaps there’s a way to hide that

So in addition to the terrible VC changes, the servers are making the game completely unplayable for me tonight. Can't even load into a round on MyCareer without network errors or perpetual loading. I get that launch would make the servers worse, but this is unacceptable.

Edit: got into a round after ~5 minutes of loading.

Edit 2: My next round took a normal amount of time to load into, looks like I initially logged on at the worst time.

There is a way to hide the scores of the ghost players. There's a setting that can be changed to do To accomplish that. I'll look into it and find out exactly what setting has to be changed and report back here with it. It's not as straightforward as it should be I'll grant you that.

Just wanted to share...2K put out an explanation of their gameplay changes that occurred yesterday :

Gameplay Tuning Adjustments:

Knockdowns can now be played off the tee.
This adds value and more flexibility with the shot

Thai Spinner no longer playable on the green.
This is a response to community feedback around short game exploitation

Shot Shaping difficulty tuning and vertical swing exploit adjustments made.
Shaping to vertical to attempt to side step the evo-swing input offset has been made more challenging.

Flop shot difficulty balancing.
Shot made easier to execute

Lag Putting difficulty balancing.
Shot made easier to execute

Spinner difficulty and distance balancing.
Shot made more challenging to execute, and removed short game exploit

Pick Shot difficulty and distance balancing.
Shot made more challenging to execute, and removed longer range game exploit

Splash shot difficulty balancing.
Shot made easier to execute

Power Pick difficulty and distance balancing.
Shot made more challenging to execute, and removed short game exploit

Off The Deck skill distance and difficulty balancing.
Shot made more challenging to execute, and removed longer range game exploit

Enabled Lie Grid on Master Difficulty Preset

Here's another bit of information from 2K on their changes, based on their observations from early access:

- Players had 99 OVR characters in 20-25 hours...this was not the intent
- Ten hour quests were being done in 2 hours
- Rate of play was up to 5x faster than intended, especially because of Perfect Swing

Just sharing some detail here, not at all excusing it.

Thanks for sharing. It doesn’t justify the in game price increases, but I enjoy the ranking up more now since I do need to grind. I wish they separated it from online mode though. It’s just crazy that to buy attribute points AND attire, it’s going to cost so much. The attribute grind is fine but make the apparel affordable.

So basically we had double xp and VC, and no ONE at 2k caught it? This is why gamers hate AAA companies. Some communication could’ve prevented the backlash.

I hope the game gets review bombed on Steam over this.

I know I have said it before, but I want to go back to the days of where your player is just your player, no attributes to manipulate. You don't need to level him up or add stupid ****ing boosts, you just play and get better at the game naturally. you shouldn't need currency to get better at a game.

Absolutely hate it. Once I lost my player in K23, I was like, **** it, and just kept the basic "67" guy, bought different balls to mess with and changed some club appearances, but just bypass the constant tweaking reminders. Suffice using it as a single player, casual game.

Bizarre. 2k apparently thinks getting a player to 99 is the game or something. Like, who actually cares about that beyond needing a 99 to be on equal footing with others online.

91 overall myplayer and I have not broken par since the update. Best I’ve managed has been even. Anyone else getting an insane amount of wind too? Don’t think I’ve played with less than 5 mph since Wednesday.

I am thinking they didn't look at the metrics until Thursday to accumulate all the stats.

Agree, wish they would separate the online vs offline gamer.

They had to produce the receipts based on the online outrage, and rightfully so.

The process could have been better with this.

Now, I have all the early birders to blame for the spot we are in. lol, jk.

Maybe having it explained, finally, maybe I am in a better place. Don't complain

with what you never had, enjoy with what you have.

I know that doesn't bode well with others.
