I just started getting them, and now they won't go away. Im going to return it for another copy in the morning.

I have yet to receive a dirty disc error in any XBox game since launch.

You're one of the rare and lucky ones ,because most people who have November 2001 Xboxes start to get DDE's with the most recent games

You need to change your Thomson drive to a Samsung one.Don't even waste your time getting a new Forza game, it has nothing to do with the game.

Oh, that would explain it then. I had the Best Buy replacement plan on mine, and when it got close to the end of it I had my XBox replaced "just in case". I never had a problem with it, but I heard that some drives were bad, etc. I just swapped it for a new one a year or so ago.

I bought a new Xbox Holiday Season of 03 and haven't gotten any DDE on any games; rented and used including.

I have no idea how to do that. Also does that count as modding the xbox or will it still work online?

I just bought a new xbox to get a samsung on friday, didn't feel like replacing dvd, and now i can do other things with the old one.

It doesn't count as modding per se, but you are breaking the seal on the xbox. You will still be able to go online, but you won't be able to return it or get any warranty stuff on it. It is a little harder for people who don't know what they're doing.

the last time(about 3 weeks ago?) that I got DDE it was with the Samsung drive. I took the XBOX apart and cleaned the lense and all the dust in it. No DDE's since then.
