If you lose the car on entry, then you need to brake earlier and do it ibn a straight line as much as possible. The other thing is that you may need to apply little more touch on the brakes.
Now for the loose on exit part, those are some tricks that generally tighten up a car:
-Less fender flare/more spoiler
-stiffer front springs/softer rear springs
-increase wedge
I hope this helps. I'll be spending some tiem with the game today and see if I can get better. So far though, I'm not sure I'll like it as much as 2005. The handling might not have been all that realistic but it sure was a lot of fun. I don't like the team portion and from the little portion I've seen out of Fight To the Top you can't really ignore it. Anyways, I'm not too high on this game right now. Hopefully I'll feel better about it as I spend more time with it. -

You guys should really turn the assists off. Then you'll be tighter than a virgin. Otherwise the comp does the braking for you, which ticks me off.Comment

Speed control is everything at Bristol. You simply can't drive as deeply into the corner in NASCAR 06 as you could with NASCAR 2005. That's more realistic -- with a catch.
The catch is that even when you get off the gas and slow to a proper speed at the "flat" tracks like Indy, New Hampshire, Martinsville, Vegas, Michigan and California, the AI cars will blow you away, at least on Veteran with assists off. It just seems like the AI can carry an unrealistic amount of speed into corners on those tracks, even with setup changes.
I'll need to tinker more with setups and testing. The handling is different this year than in NASCAR 2005, but I'm not sure yet whether that's because of more realism or a return of the "dump truck" physics that plagued every NASCAR Thunder game.
I have one more night of my rental and plan to put some more time in with this tonight. I'm really on the fence with this one. My initial reaction is that NASCAR 2005 is a better buy right now. I'm not sure NASCAR 06 is worth $50 unless you MUST have Pocono, Ken Schrader, Jeremy Mayfield and the new drivers and paint jobs.
It's really confounding to me that EA tried to make the driving model simulate the weight and momentum of a 3,600-pound stock car more realistically this year -- and I'm still unsure of the success of that effort -- while adding such a ridiculously arcadish, stupid and useless feature like Total Team Control.
Take care,

Re: Nascar 06' handling issues
hm, ive found driving at indy and other flat tracks pretty easy. california is hard because your tires go and when they go the car is impossible to drive. for some reason i really like driving at indy and i find it pretty easy. though, at the flat tracks when your tires start to wear the car is REALLY hard to drive and it just seems unrealistic, even with assists on.Comment
